Battlenet linux version

Blizzard could create a Linux client and a translation layer like Valve did for Steam. I already run Diablo 4 through Lutris normally. But wouldn’t it be good for Blizzard to officially embrace the Linux community, which has only grown in recent months? We jumped from 2% to almost 7% in less than a year!

You may not know but, the company is owned by Microsoft. I don’t see this happening very soon.

It just hit 5% market share last year. That’s just overall, in terms of gaming machines and customers it’s certain to be far less.

Insignificant to Blizzard.

So, not gonna happen any time soon

Microsoft is selling Diablo 4 on the Steam store, and many are playing it on Linux or SteamOS. Reconsider your worldview…

I haven’t tied my personality to an operating system.

I’d imagine Proton getting more automated over Microslop greenlighting linux versions of their launchers.

Gamers who experience gaming on Linux never go back to Windows. Linux manages the CPU, memory, and GPU much better. Resource usage on Linux is infinitely superior!

Just a shame that some anti-cheats are so invasive that you can’t play some games on Linux. Also Windows isn’t that bad if you strip it down and remove all the AI, Edge, OneDrive etc etc.

If you are using the Steam OS you can launch battle.net. I am not sure of other Linux OS but maybe heroic launcher could work.
