Barbarian temper

I don’t understand, how does the barbarian have critical and vulnerable damage tempers?

Best would be to remove Tempering for Barbs to bring them down to the power level of other classes

A player will roll a class with the desired tempering catetory, take the item the barbarian will ultimately use, and temper it on the class with said desired tempering category. Then all they have to do is have the barbarian equip it and boom, crit and vulnerability on their items. Rogues and sorcerers can accomplish these two for barbarian items.

People make other classes and then use those classes to temper barb gear. Like a rogue for Critical Strike Damage. So long as temper is not tagged with a class ability, Then any class can use that temper.

take away their pants, thorny bashers!

On a related note to this, is it worth tempering crit damage instead of damage to close? Seems counter intuitive or a wash at best. Thinking Bash Barbarian for this question…maybe other builds like Bleed/Rend benefit with it better?

I do both Cd on gloves rings and ammy the rest on all 4 weapons

The only reason you typically take Critical Strike Damage is when you are using Gushing Wounds and have Grandfather. Vulnerable is taken when you have a Pure Bleed build using Hemmhorage (like Flay) - this is getting changed to a cap like BR.

Damage While Berserking you only need 300 until it maxes out Blood Rage multiplicative damage. If you use Bash, you take the Bash Cleave Temper.

Upheaval is just about the only thing that can make use of Damage to Distant. Damage to Close is good for those outlier Skills but there are mostly better options.

If you use Yen’s with War Cry only and Mobility, Basic/Core, you can take Damage While War Cry is active.

If you have Masterworked WoTB CD on jewelry, CDR, Flickerstep and either Marshal, Rage of Harrogath, or Strategic Ground Stomp for ULT CDR, you can use the Damage While Wrath of Berserking is active since you can have 100% uptime on WoTB.

Assuming none of those things though, you can technically build a Charge or Kick Damage build for S&G.

I’m basically pure Bash now after dropping Razorplate and Thorns.

I run three shouts with Steel Grasp and Iron Warrior.

Using Two Handed Mace with Heavy Handed/As Much Attack Speed/Might Glyph.

Currently everything is tempered for Bash Cleave and Damage to Close.

So I was just checking to see in my scenario if changing to Crit Damage might help. My crit change is around 60%.

Currently Clearing up to 130 pits although it is not fun to do so as it takes a long time.

If you are not using Grandfather or Gushing Wounds, no probably not. We would need to see your full build to offer more advice on how to get more damage. What Glyphs and Legendary nodes are you using? Aspects? Moonrise, Adaptability, Edgemasters, Elements etc.

Thanks for the offer. Not using Grandfather or Gushing Wounds. Following the Maxroll Bash Build on Iron Skin Pit Option. Uniques are Shako and Pain Gorgers with Amulet Doing the Iron Skin for Best Damage Reduction.

I have the attack speed options on the two handers (Moonrise and Rapid). Currently have Calm and Edgemaster on the one handers…found Calm to be better then the Elements as I do stand still a lot against bosses. Using the basic attacks reduce cool downs on boots and adaptability bold chieftains on rings if I remember correctly.

My understanding is it works pretty well for WW builds too. I’m using a lot of Crit damage with my WW barb and it seems to work pretty well.

Oh, it’s quite simple. A Blizzard employee went into the D4 engine/server/database and entered said things into a table somewhere and now we have those as a Temper.

Well i made a homemade Hota/Cota build. Shako,Flickersteps, and Arreat Pants. 1600 crit damage 61% crit chance. No basic skill just got enough cdr now for perma ancients. Fun to play clears Pit 100 with a min or 2 to spare.

Uses Dust devils/leap and Hota Large eq area, with shako kind works like lut socks from D3. I can get 3 leaps out of a warcry so lol i get area damage something that doesnt exist in the game.

Its no game changer but it sure is fun to play. P.s Old Barb player closest thing i could get to a D3 Ik build.

Anything that can achieve 100% Critical Strike Chance (or very close to it) it is worthwhile, especially if you have a Grandfather. There are other priorities usually that provide you multiplicative damage. I cannot imagine a build out there that wouldn’t grab Blood Rage and 300 DwB for example.

If we are talking about Weapon Affixes, for WW I am not quite sure. Pretty much any build wants Strength and Maximum Health. The 3rd Affix depends on your build. Usually it would be Attack Speed, but WW Critical Strike Damage seems optimal.
