Barbarian techniques

Wowhead have updated their skill calculator and now shows what you can pick as Techniques:

Click the button in lower left for seeing the Techniques possible. Indeed kind of like Sorcerer enchantments, but not remotely nearly as much customization.

I suspect Two-Handed Axe technique may be among the most commonly picked, followed by Two-Handed Sword technique for bleed builds.

But I suspect pvpers will want 1h Mace Technique, dualing maces.

The technique slot has been avaible on other build calculators for months. Thing is, on the old datamined stuff the “technique” we see is called expertise and the real technique is hidden.

For example, on 1h maces…

One-Handed Mace Expertise

This is hidden. I wonder which one of the 2 things we’ll get. Its a complete build changer.

Guess i hadnt noticed it on the lotrik calculator.

It doesnt appear in any calculator for now. My bet is that is NDA protected info that will appear in 2h when the embargo ends. Or maybe we’ll get what we see already. 2h+ to know for certain.

I haven’t looked at any of this very closely since the technique slot wasn’t available in the betas.

I know you need to use a weapon type to increase your expertise level with it… but do we know if you’ll need to be wielding that weapon type to slot the technique bonus?

For example if I’m using polearms for 40 levels and have the expertise maxed out, and then I find an amazing 2h sword and switch to that; can I still keep the polearm technique slotted and keep that bonus while using the 2h sword? I’m assuming not, but hoping we can.

In theory, as it is now, you can override all weapons expertises with the one you choose. BUT, what we dont know yet, is if we’ll get the hidden technique thing for each weapon to choose from (and you’ll lose the polearm expertise if you’re not using it).
