Barbarian - Rupture skill bugged

Enhanced Rupture is bugged, it is not applying bleed after its usage… It seams like the skill is clearing the bleed after it applies its own. So you visually see the bleed applied after skill usage, but the bleed is then removed, and the NPCs health bar goes back up.

I have seen similar issues with ruptures looking like they should kill, but not. In general Rupture feels so much weaker than deathblow especially when being swarmed by mobs. If Rupture had a cooldown of 5 seconds or refresh on kills like overpower that would bring it more on par. Right now it is just too limited. Alternatively Rupture could get an greater remove bleed range of effect as it hits very few enemies. The difference in the immediate death due to Death Blow and waiting for enemy health bars to drain from bleed over time is drastic due to all of the incoming damage and effects.

Noticed the same thing. Every time the health bar jumps back up and nullifies all my bleed damage.

In Early Access this bug is still present.

I’m experiencing the same thing with Rupture. The bleed damage is taken and converted into damage, then when the bleed effect is taken away and the animation ends, the damage taken initially is restored (or so it appears).

Can we expect a hotfix?

Was about to post a similar thread. I thought i’ve been seeing things but this ability seems to be very bugged. It seems to sometimes not apply the bleed damage and other times you can clearly see it trying to apply it then theyre health just magicly increases back to its previous value again.

Crazy this has not been fixed since this is an ability that is very needed for bleed builds.

I just got the “Fields of Crimson” Unique 2h-sword, Which ended up giving me 6 ranks in rupture and a 16.4% CDR on rupture. With other gear and points invested, I have 13 ranks in rupture giving it a 5.18 seconds cool down. With all of this… It still feels bad. I has bad feedback with enhanced rupture causing an explosion, but damaging the enemies for the bleeding amount. The animation also takes a decent amount of time to complete, leaving you open to get stunned, which interrupts the action.

In the late game you are normally facing hordes of enemies at a time. having the long animation bring a high chance of death. It also only applies to 1 enemy. When in T4 you are normally facing 3 elites at a time + adds.

To buff the ability to be more viable I’d recommend either reducing the cool down and increasing the animation speed, or allowing the enhanced rupture explosion effect to also damage the enemies for their current bleeding amount.

The game is now officially released, same bug is still happening.

the wording for rupture is this:
Skewer enemies in front of you, dealing X damage, then rip your weapon out, damaging enemies for their total Bleeding amount and removing all Bleeding damage from them.

enhanced rupture does this: “Ripping your weapon out of enemies during [Rupture] causes an explosion that deals X Bleeding damage over 5 seconds”.

It happens after the “damaging enemies for their total Bleeding amount”, but before the “removing all Bleeding damage from them” part. essentially doing nothing.

in game this is seen as rupture doing what is intended, then adding enhanced rupture’s bleed, then removing it.

having the skill work as intended would make it more used, more relevant, and to be honest more fun as I think the bleed/rupture combo is one of the more fun ideas of the barbarian.

indeed it is. but what blizzard sees as fun is just something to take away.while im sitting here watching ice sorcs melt everything and druids just SCREEN WIPE entire areas. nah fam. something doesnt add up. they did something. they broke SOMETHING it is NOT how the skill is supposed to be. it is NOT supposed to be this WEAK.

allowing the enhanced rupture explosion effect to also damage the enemies for their current bleeding amount.

And then adds the rupture bleed after removing rend bleed.

This is what I thought it would do, hoped it would do. And I believe this is the fix for rupture.

if i read all the stacks of bleed and how we apply damage to rupture after rupture gets pulled back. it in effect re applies the previous bleed stack so we dont have to do it again, that is the entire point for allllllllllllllllll those paragon points and expertise and aspects we GRIND away at.
