Alright new player here, trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong on barbarian. I’m currently playing a pure werewolf druid with werewolf only talents and i am just deleting mobs and it feels amazing on expert. Then i tried to play barbarian because i got a cool armor set i liked on the shop and seemed more my class fantasy but it feels absolutely horrible compared to my druid. Like ive tried so many builds and i just flop to every mob on expert that ive been just destroying normally on druid. Am i missing something here? Is barbarian just that underpowered? Im about level 20 on my barbarian rn and level 40 on my druid. I really wanted to make a playstyle like my werewolf druid on barbarian but nothing works. I feel like i just do zero damage.
Earthquakes.
You’re welcome.
you can try diablo 3
how? what do you mean earthquakes? theres no talent in the tree for that?
Yep earthquakes. Slap them in, build towards them, delete the entire screen laughing.
Actually they are. Heavy Hitter passive. Runes if you have the expansion. Aspects that cause earthquakes like Earthquake Aspect, Bul Kathos, Executioner’s, and Incendiary Fissures. Temper ranks of Heavy Hitter onto Weapons and Chance to cast Earthquakes Twice on one of your two hands, then try to double or triple crit the chance to double earthquake and all the Heavy Hitter tempers. Slap on a pair of Arreat’s and use Call Of The Ancients with super low Cooldown to cause additional damage, and create even more Earthquakes. Use Ground Stomp with Strategic Ground Stomp to even further decrease Ultimate Cooldown for basically instant reset. Boom.
I’m level 20 will that work for leveling? I’ve literally never played this game before. How do i get the aspects and runes?
I mean, yes. It can still be viable for leveling you just need the aspects mainly and to invest hard points into Heavy Hitter. Then work your way up from there.
Here, my build isn’t exactly like everyone else’s and I have reasons for that, but I thoroughly enjoy it. Just to give you an idea of what to build towards. Put your own spin on it or check out other guides if you wanna go pure quake.

Tell me a meta build of the barbarian that doesn’t have earthquakes, even the barbarian from d2 has more options
I’m not telling you anything. He asked for help, I’m helping. You don’t like quakes? Don’t play them.
Better say that you can’t say anything, because there is nothing to say, the barbarian works with earthquakes because friend Adam wanted it that way, there is no diversity of builds, there is no end game, there is nothing, just get lost in the pit to receive 0 rewards.
This thread isn’t about you or your dislike of earthquakes, barbarians, or lack of whatever. This is about the OP asking for help with barbarian. I’m offering him one of the most viable options right now. Get over it, this isn’t about you.
You are giving them the only option there is haha as much as you want and say that your build is unique, it is like all earthquakes because the others do not work
Well no, mine isn’t full EQ like the rest. I’m built around the idea that EQ’s will get nerfed next season, so I’m balanced between the three pillars of Heavy Hitter. So Ultimate, EQ, and DD. That’s not really the same as the rest of the guides out there.
Also, who cares?
Get to level 60 before you start comparing class to class.
The idea that pure warewolf druid is better than 90% of barb feels wrong
Just as they said
You don’t even need to min max heavily.
No need until you decide to push to do the whole skill rotation.
Just BacTec runes.
Max move speed and every 5 meters = EQ.
Roll Chance to Cast EQ 2x on a 2 hand weap and 1 hand weap and 2x the carnage.
Get EQ size to 100%.
Laziest build I’ve ever seen(no, I didn’t play last season so this is laziest I’ve seen to date).
Once you level up some glyphs and have decent gear you can just speed run through 100’s without doing anything.
Hardest part about the build is backtracking for loot and especially rot/cinders/obducite.
My solution to that (and to aid with pits) was Igni/Kry. Every time I interrupt my channel with a Ground Stomp or cast a Shout/Ultimate, it pulls the entire screen. Making looting much easier, pits much easier, and focusing damage to a fixed point.
Idk man mabye early game barbarian is just bad. I tried the setup people are telling me about and I still just flop everything cost way to much fury and everything just does zero damage. It feels so slow and clunky compared to other classes I’m trying. I feel like it needs serious buffs. Especially to core damage skills. Flay feels the worst out of them all. Like Druid spiritborn necromancer and sorc feel like a night and day difference compared to barb. This is from the perspective of a new player. They need to give barb some major buffs for early game imo.
Leveling?
Focus Dust Devils. Spit them out with the Aspect that throws out 3 per Shout. Slot 2 Shouts on your bar. Look for Yen’s Boots, it will cast free Shouts.
Add in the other Aspect that throws out Dust Devils per X Fury Generated.
Temper Bash ASAP. It adds decent damage, and gives it a small AoE. It’s one of the best early Tempers. Stick it on all 4 Weapons.
Then start focusing Earthquakes. There’s two/three Aspects for it. Ground Stomp and Leap, but both enhance Earthquake Damage, even if you don’t use Stomp/Leap. Stomp is better leveling, simply for the stun.
Gameplay is Stomp, Shout, Bash, Bash, Bash.
Generate that Fury, Shout when off CD, spam those Dust Devils. Focus on things that increase Fury generated and reduce CD.
When you hit Paragon, you can start optimizing and boosting Earthquake damage. It will surpass every other damage, with the goal being to constantly spam Earthquakes simply by moving.
