Barbarian need ranged weapons

Could you include ranged weapons for Barbarians, like spears, javelins, thrown handaxes.

i dont think barbarians need range. I like their identity as it is currently.

I DO think they need slow on some of their skills though so when you do catch a mob or a monster, it cant kite you

BarBarian don’t need range weapons. Barb needs higher movement speed. Or better yet, give us more dash baseline with 3 seconds recharge.

Use leap or charge. Or just use the dash ability.

I’m making this suggestion to make barbarians more versatile, they can still use the suggested items as melee dual-wield or throw them useing rage.

I think the biggest issue is shouts doing a pushback on enemies. That’s the last thing a barb wants is to chase enemies around even more

I dont think its feasible, they are designed around their specific arsenal weapons. Barbs would get even more overscaled if they got yet more statsticks.

Not ranged weapons but just a ranged ability (toss/throw/whatever), pick up the nearest non-elite and throw it somewhere

On impact could do a knockback/knockdown/throw-off-cliff chance maybe :smiley:

Think this can go even a step further but not just for Barb, Ice shards on Sorc could be an ability that is more like a “shotgun” lower range/fan type than a “machine gun” from already existing ability… And to be frank would rather even just add some bit extra in terms of knockback/shock but not sure which

Once the Barb has a ranged ability and the Sorc has a CC that’s not freeze can go deeper into nastier mob types without being that much bothered about balance (I think :slight_smile: )

the barb is already going to be one of the stronger classes, im sure its fine not being ranged

I would like if Barb had some sort of weapon throw basic ability that generated fury and had range, even if somewhat short range.

Just something to use during the many anti-melee boss abilities.

What’s ironic is I thought I saw some early demo footage of the game where the barbarian had a bunch of spears and stuff on them and was throwing them.

Maybe change dash ability, on first use stay as is, 2 - 3 second cooldown, on second use barbarian could parry 100% physical damage taken, 2 - 3 second cooldown, on third use could be a small dash to put enemies in the air.

bleeds apply slows with a passive and some abilities like whirlwind can apply bleeds passively

NO. Jesus lawd the game comes out in 2 months, there is no time for that. Play a ranged class if you wanna do that. Barb is not a ranged class.

They do have that. For example “Hamstring” slows enemies by x% while under the effects of bleed.
There are lots of options. Hope Blizzard 100% ignores the whining about fleeing monsters, it was a great AI mix up, please add more, Blizz

Barb don’t need range. The main problem is how tanky the class is. Sorc is more tanky, and got immunes, what barb don’t have. My problem is why a weak physic caster class has more tools for being tanky, then a brawler.

Tbh i don’t care how long a boss takes if i can facetank it. If i can facetank, i can generate more fury, and use more skills.

Barb has kick, try it.

Steel Grasp and Iron Maelstrom are also ranged abilities. In fact, Iron Maelstrom is capable of clearing a whole screen of monsters, even elites.
