Barb tempering crit dmg

rolling first barb for this season going bash…what is this mess about having a rogue temper crit damage? ok barb can’t do it that is very dumb….but do they have a suitable replacement besides the cleave temper? dmg to close? i’m not rolling a rogue

Don’t waste your time rolling Crt damage from a rogue for your barb unless you have the Uber Grandfather.

Just roll Bash cleve, damage to berserk to a max of 300%, and damage to close

Crit damage is additive, on normal gear get whatever gives the highest damage % for the type you apply because its all bucketed anyway. Example I always range so I roll damage to distant ALWAYS because the ranges are double regular damage rolls so more additive total damage.

Most of the builds I’m seeing doing the crit damage temper specifically say the grandfather is a bad choice for the build.

My theory:

I dont think the devs even wanted regular crit damage in Rogue. The temper was initially Marksman Crit Damage but it didnt boost Rogue’s Precision Passive that uses regular Crit Damage. Instead of allowing Precision to scale off of Marksman Crit Damage, they most likely concluded that Melee rogues don’t use Crit Damage anyway, so why not change Marksman Crit Damage temper to regular Crit Damage but neglected to realize other classes can now make a Rogue and use that temper too.

Unless the ranges are super high why waste the time though? Its the same additive amount as any other damage % temper but is also contingent on critting which you can do pretty easily but…still.

For Rogue it boost thier Key Passive Precision. And to keep it short, a Rogues Core skill will always Crit in a combo point build with Precision even with no crit chance affixes on gear. Thus, a Rogue can basically 2-4x thier damage via stacking crit damage. Its why Rapid Fire with Precision, before the patch broke it, is considered an S tier build.

No idea why Barbs are getting it as I am ignorant on the class.

Bleed Bash, using Gushing Wounds crit dmg scaling.

Tempering sucks. Full Stop.
