Cheetah is a green text, what were you honestly expecting?
Itâs naive to think it would actually be removed. It will be amended with âit was appealedâ, maybe even the result of the appeal, but it isnât removed.
I foolishly expected some sign of understanding that people donât trust Blizzard for good reason.
Ok you do you. Donât waste your time then. I have been online gaming since 1998 and have never been banned in a game ever. Itâs not something I have to worry about. If it did happen to me though, you bet I am âwasting my timeâ writing a 20 second appeal.
I do get why people donât trust Blizzard. I honestly donât think people should trust any corporation.
However, I can only explain how things work so people can work within the system that exists. There are also a lot of misunderstandings about the penalty system which it helps to explain.
I donât expect anyone to LIKE it.
first ban for me as well, no warning or anything, if I did do something against the rules I would love to know what it was then either get ban lifted or accept the ban and make a new account and start playing again
Well honestly if it was just dungeon spam, I donât think you should have gotten banned. Not while all the streamers and youtubers are doing the same thing and showing others how to do it with not the same treatment. I hope you find out why. Everyone is entitled to know what they did wrong, if anything.
like i said before not a single one of the available dungeons have i ran 100 times
Did you run any dungeons over and over to use a hyperspawn mob XP gain? I am not asking how many times, or how much you gained, just if you did.
Did you run any overlays, macros, or other third party software that helped you with the game? That includes AHK which is used for some folks at jobs, but should not be used with Blizzard games.
I dunno why you got banned man. I am just saying that if you did get banned for that then I donât think you should have. Not while other people are on camera doing it all day long everyday.
No every dungeon i ran I cleared everything necessary to progress including the boss. no idea what hyperspawn mob xp gain is but likely no. No i havnt used any macros while playing diablo 4. only overlay active is for discord. Only macros on my pc are for wow and would benefit me in no way for diablo 4.
He asked you:
Why have they not banned the streamers who did it, live on twitch?
not
Should they be penalized?
Can u give us the real answer or you are just to sacred to loose your green letters?
I have no idea why they have not banned streamers who showcased exploits. They should.
I have been green as a TS/CS MVP for over 10 years now. I have been very critical of Blizzard at times and am fully welcome to be so. The only thing I canât do is break the code of conduct. A person can be critical, express an opinion, etc - and not do it with profanity and insults.
i donât work for Blizzard. They donât tell me why they make the internal decisions they do, esp for discipline reasons. I find out when you all do - when and if they make a public statement.
Correct. In the past when they do ban for exploits, it is not the casual user who stumbles on it and tries something a few times. It is the person who figures out the gain, and then intentionally uses the heck out of it.
How is this considered a bad thing? To me if others wanted to do stuff and I was afk benefiting that isnât a bad thing at all. And definitely not anything worthy of a ban ever.
If Blizzard is banning for certain behavior, then I think they should let everyone know what that is so that people can avoid it.
Why make everyone guess what is against the rules? Just tell us.
Uhh I question this big time.
Blizzard loves to deal in ambiguity.
Is leaving game and rejoining to reset an event or dungeon âexplotingâ? What about leaving group?
What about repeat runs on dungeons with clearly incorrect elite density (that got nerfed)?
Blizzard frequently relies on ambiguity. So you try to do the right thing and not do those things - and that is why you are 60 instead of 80-100.
Befitting by being AFK is not really how games are designed to work. That is akin to botting in a way. It means you are not playing the game yourself, but are getting rewards.
I dnât think so seeing as they told us that leaving the dungeon or changing group lead is how reset is designed. You can just stay out for 60 to 120 seconds and it resets too. They donât intend a long reset time.
THIS on the other hand is something that is an issue. As you said it was âclearly incorrect densityâ. When something is obviously wrong, and someone goes really out of their way to exploit that, that can land them in hot water.
Of course all this is speculation right now. We donât know what the OP got banned for, or if Blizzard has done anything about the XP exploits.
I think he meant, if you enter a dungeon and there are no mobs, and you reset it until the density seems reasonable, that might look like you are exploiting, but in reality, you are just trying to get a normal dungeon.
Not only that but not specifying properly is a legal issue.
If someone felt like going to court over this the EULA is going to get savaged by lawyers because it contains âgotchaâ clauses.
Gotcha clauses are basically ambiguous clauses that have no realistic definition and can be applied however the corporation feels.
So banning for exploits without actually defining what an exploit is, isnât very smart. All it takes is 1 pissed off rich dude who wants to make a point and Blizzard could get in some hot water up to and including their lawyers being sanctioned.
If you agreed that Blizzard can ban you for any reason, or for no reason at all, then I donât think there is much you can do legally.
I mean if true then all the people in WoW paying to be afk at the entrance while they get AOTC, M+ rewards, and more from their carry are ban worthy.
