This is a primary example as to why I have not preordered your expansion and I am assuming there are many, many people that share the perspective.
You simply are just not good at balancing your games. You clearly have people that do not play this game or ANY GAME for that matter, in control of balancing it.
Your balance patch did practically NOTHING for Sorcs. You refuse to acknowledge the fundamental issue with the class - WE DO GARBAGE DAMAGE! Further to it, if the boss isn’t staggered, we essentially do ZERO DAMAGE!
The best suggestion I have seen (RageGamingVideos Youtube video on this recent patch) is to simply just let us equip a staff, wand and focus at the same time. While increasing enchantment slots to 3.
This would free up a lot of viability for the class and would be more inline with the other classes in the game.
Our enchants suck and I don’t think I have seen ONE Sorc build since beta that has not used the firebolt enchant.
As it stands, you simply don’t deserve more money for this game. This is all excluding the fact that the expansion, in all likelihood, will only be ~30% finished by the time it’s released.
Anyone preordering is a fool. It took a year to get some sort of better itemization and still there is no balance between classes XD it’s just unfinished game. Any new expansion won’t change it.

I use wand+focus, so a staff as a third weapon would do for me:
2x damage increase from 2x weapons damage. Plus +200 intelligence added to 2000 int, that’s another 1.1x damage. Then I move meteor crit damage aspect from want to staff and that’s 1.8/1.4=1.285x damage increase (or 2.6/1.8=1.44x against healthy). Then I’d put an aspect that gives 1.25x damage when barrier is up.
Now let’s count.
2x1.1x1.25x1.285=3.53 damage increase
And 2x1.1x1.25x1.444=3,97~4 against healthy
So my meteor would deal 1.53.53=5,3mln
The meteor/fireball crit damage aspect as well as base damage won’t do anything for Xfal, so no 1.285(or 1.444 increase) and no 2x increase
So Xfal would deal 1.11.25=1.38x more damage.
That’s 2*1.38=2.76mln
So, currently it’s
Meteor: 1.5mln
Xfal: 2mln
Would be:
Meteor = 5.3mln
Xfa: 2.76

Ok, I forgot about tempering, but it’s not gonna do much.
The real issue is we have crap multipliers. Every other class has multiple multipliers that go well above 50%x territory, some even have 100%x or 1000%x territory and these double dip.
Sorc’s biggest multiplier, Burning Instinct, is for Burning Damage only but scales off Crit Damage… I mean WTF? Burning Damage doesnt’ benefit from Crit Damage, so basically you are stacking tons of Crit Damage on your build that does nothing for your intended damage type just to get a multiplier.
Every other class double dips. Rogue stack Vulnerability to get a much bigger multiplier than we can get on Burning Instinct – 1000%x multiplier on Victimize. The skill gets full damage from the flat Vulnerable damage of %1800 or so, and then multiplies it with the %1750x Victimize multiplier.
Barb stacks Vulnerable and Crit Damage, which gives its Bash or Flay full damage, then multiplies that with the Vulnerable multiplier from Hemorrhage (which can get to around 50%x to 100%x) then multiplies it with the multiplier from Gushing Wounds (which is around %5000x).
And Sorc gets Incinerate, Firewall or Firebolt with 0% crit damage added to it, and 150%x multiplier.
That is the problem with Sorc. Not a missing Staff slot.
Tbh, the new Shaman likely being the closest to Sorcerer in image, I don’t see them fixing Sorcerer. They’d probably be like: Wanna play a mage thingy? Buy our DLC and wreck as Shaman.
If the Sorc had been good for the past year I would pre-order the expansion in a heartbeat.
But as a Sorc Main I can’t really justify giving Blizzard any more money for this game. They’ve treated me like trash for the past year, so I am not giving them any more money at all until I am happy with my class.
I see lots of Barbs, Rogues and Necros running around with Wings. I see zero Sorcs with wings.
And the reason why Barb is always king every season is because they have the best and most multipliers, and they have four weapon slots to use them with. They have skills that have built-in 150x multipliers. They have a passive that gives them crap tons of life. They have everything.
It is truly a blessed class that both Lillith and Inarius love.
I feel the same. i also wont buy new expansion because i don`t want to play class that blizzard want me to play. If such big disbalance is now and wil be even bigger tomorrow then gl.
Not bothering to play Diablo 4 anymore even though the game granted me all the ubers for sorc class (appreciated to the RNG) after a week when the Season 4 started. Probably will come back after Season 12 which the second expansion might be released if the sorc class gets reworked by that time.
Waiting for POE 2 which is much more promising since the dev team is at least competent in defining all the classes with their power and weakness.
