Backpacks: Why are they goofy? Why do they float far behind the character? Why do we not have sheathes and holsters?

Backpacks: Why are they stupid? Who is going to carry a gigantic coffin, a burning cauldron, an undead altar, or a massive tree trunk? Ridiculous. Why can’t you create actual backpacks or weapon sheathes? Goofy here and there is fine, but almost all of it is goofy.

Moreover, these backpacks float so far behind some of the armor models that it gives the appearance of a 2001 game. Weapons clipping through them look absolutely terrible. What a mess.

Why do we not have sword sheathes or axe clips? Crossbows and hammers look ridiculous and lazy… just floating behind the model. Makes the whole character look absolutely atrocious.

This may not seem like a big deal, but if these things were dealt this, our characters would look incredible. Why dumb them down with beginner techniques?

WHAT TO CHANGE:

Each sword should have its own weapon sheath. I’m a 3D modeler and can probably create a sheath for every sword in this game in 1 day. It’s VERY simple to do.

We should also be given a limited x, y, z transform so that we can adjust each backpack-to-armor accordingly.

Why? What purpose does it serve? The majority of people won’t notice them or care.

Weird flex but, okay? They could easily do it to, they chose not to because it’s a waste of time and resources.

Clipping is going to exist long after graphics are indistinguishable from reality.

The only way you’ll know you’re still in the game is because someone’s hair starts poking through their premium DLC jacket every time they look around.

I mean not really, AI will probably solve that some day by dynamically adapting hairstyles and outfit combos, but right now it’s usually because the team can’t bother to match the accessory up with every other combo -_-

And you know what the majority wants? Sorry. I didn’t realize you were gifted to mind-reading. Weird flex, but okay…

3D modeling was to make a point about their laziness. It’s easy to do.

How is the artists being told by the higher ups not to waste time on something lazy? You are right, it is easy to do and they could easily do it, but the director deemed it a waste of resources. That’s not lazy, that’s how game development works.

One day you’ll have a big boy job and be able to understand that.

This being the first thread I have seen on either the Diablo 3 or 4 forums about it, I’d say it’s a safe bet the majority doesn’t care.

And that’s the majority of the incredible minority that uses the forums. No mind reading, just logical conclusion.

Big boy job? I don’t get it. Why insult? Why you so mad?

I’m retired, btw. At 40.

I never equip a backpack because I agree they look silly and I don’t think they suit these type of fantasy characters. If this is suppose to be some nod to realism and not another attempted cash grab then someone needs to tell them that gear is usually stored on the horse. Maybe if they create a Navy SEAL class.

Untill this is your biggest problem, you’re good. I realy envy you.

and why exactly can’t people have the backpacks they like just because you don’t like them
it’s not like you have to buy them
guess I’ll have to stop thinking about one of the backpacks I was going to buy because I liked it because you don’t like backpacks

Indeed. So you’re saying that next time I post, it should be about an issue that has been posted about 100 times already?

:cat2: one is better than the :goat: one… because :cat2:

Did you see the emote that comes with this one? :smile_cat:

Yes, and when you think about it moving the :cat2: away from your legs is logical because the :cat2: is ultimately trying to kill you by tripping you. Although the emote would be better it :cat2: was successful and you character trips and falls. Because :cat2: :joy_cat:
