Open a chest - frames drop to 10
Cross a map section - frame drops to 40
New character on screen - frame drops to 20
Enter a new room - frame drops to 40
Checked drivers, internet connection and bandwidth, backgroud tasks, everything. Only Diablo 4 is running
AWFUL EXPERIENCE WITH A HIGH END RIG, A LOT WORST THAN IN THE FORT BETA WEEKEND

I have the same , 4080 / 7800x3d.
10-15 fpsโฆ
Tried all settings.
Low high medium nothing helps
Gpu usage 99%
4090 running ultra with max fps. Capped it at 80 tho.
I have no performance issues whatsoever on my 3070/7900 running at 1440p on highest settings.

No performance issues, RTX 3060 Ti, 16 GB RAM (2133hz), I5 10400f, running most of the time 140 fps on 1080p (all settings maxed, DLSS disabled), with occassional hicups and fps drops to 80-90.
I was afraid Iโd need to upgrade my RAM, but it seems its just fine.
Whatโs left is World Boss fps stress test to deremine definitive performance.
- i have a problem, i cannot low the fps from 240fps to 144fps, only if i limit from display settings in windows (144hz) or monitor itself (also disable freesync in monitor)
- the only issue is that itโs using 99% gpu load, for nothing, i can limit the frequency of my gpu to 90% and still get 240fps and gpu is way cooler, less power draw.
- there is something weird happening with the game, also AMD adrenaline doesnโt register Diablo IV as anything to tweak on.
- if i set 144fps ingame, doesnโt apply, not even in adrenaline (global/display) settings. the game just goes to monitorโs refresh rate, regardless of freesync (you have to tick 60,120,144,240) to get it stable and obviously different power draw from gpu. is annoying cause if you play anything else, you have to change settings again, also wears the monitor if you change it 20 times a day.
5.best advice - leave it freesync 240fps but limit power draw to 90% ( Plimit), maxfrequency from 120% to 95%, mv from 1250 to 1105. you get 240fps anyway cause itโs well optimized, cooler gpu, less hungry.
- itโs annoying if i enter MW, restart settingsโฆ all over again

My game runs at a smooth 140 fps in town, 165 (locked fps in game) overworld and hovers at 69c. Iโve got a ryzen 7 5800x, 16gb RAM and 3080 at 2k.
Havenโt had any issues with performance aside from the game freezing once.
weird that 140fps in town, i can go 271+ fps in town on 2k all ultra high, just Low Shadows.
and youโre having 3080, comparable to my 6900xt.
How is it for you guys now on full release?
I definitely see a lot of microstutters & traversal stutters. Maybe a little screen tearing too.
FPS will be locked at 99 (100hz monitor) but the 99% FPS can go as low as 20-50 sometimes.
DLSS on/off, Quality/Performance, Frame Gen - nothing seems to work.
Server problem or maybe an Engine problem?
Same issue for me even after release
RTX4090, 32GB RAM, i9, it should work perfectly, but I keep getting the micro stutters and also screen tearing
how can I get support on this?
Be sure to turn off that browser acceleration thing in the Battle.net settings. Fixed alot of the microstuttering/lagging for me.
3080 geforce, no issues, everything is super smooth, no stutter, no rubberbanding(bought fastest internet) I have no issues, sounds like you need to buy a new computer
you say that like the 4090 isnโt more than two times more powerful than the 3080, itโs for sure a compatibility issue.
Maybe Blizz is secretly using the extra gpu cycles to farm crypto.
After all Norton is doing that very thing with its anti virus software.
Did you cap it in-game, or via nvidea control?
Yep! And I have an RTX Ti - this is true. But we should all know by now that Diablo IV is a broken, unfinished, buggy beta game! They ripped us off big time! D4 is the biggest epic fail with the most bugs and problems out of all Blizzard games in history! Fact!
Blizzard needs to get their act together and fix and improve this game sooner than later! Itโs really messed up! Right now you canโt even progress in the main questline in the new Season just like it happened in Capstone Dungeon. Unreal!
they did something this past patch that did something to performance. I have a lower end card nvdia 2k series BUT the game was running fine before the season and patch. Now my game chugs literally anytime I leave a city hub or if a player comes into my vincinity.
It lags so bad sometimes that it will either hard crash or it chugs/stutters so badly the game actually thinks I lost connection and boots me to the character select screen.
Oh and yeah loading up the game takes probably 10x longer than pre season. Not sure what the hell they did but I am getting frustrated now. The nerfs I can deal with but performance is a big one for me.

First thing to do is check your CPU/GPU temperatures.
If nothing wrong, but you played around with your BIOS or GC settings, write them down and go back to default for an evening, see if it helps.
Running on Ryzen 9 5950x 64 Gb Ram and RTX 4090 at 1920 x 1080 resolution, on a 10 Gig fiber connection. Everything is on liquid cooling and the temps are decently low at all times. I got it capped at 144 however there are lots of times when frames drop under 60 and the game becomes a stuttering mess for a second or two.
Drivers are good everything is fine with the PC because no other programs or games behave like this except for D4, and iโm including much more demandig titles.
The game has some serious issues if it canโt keep up a normal framerate in such a low resolution. I mean for 2023 and with hardware like this 1080p should be a joke but appearently in D4 it isnโt so my guess is that the game is badly optimized.
Scenarios with frequent stutters:
- Opening a chest
- Crossing an invisible border between two map regions
- killing monsters in rapid succession
- picking up shrine buffs
- quickly changing direction
- other players entering the visual range
- event triggering different phases (ex wave spawns)
I am pretty sure the list should be bigger but these are just a few of the top of my head.

Itโs on every gpu. Itโs the game itself. Go to any town and it freezes on load for a good 10s.
