Aspects to go with Gore Quills

Finally received my Aspect of Gore Quill, now I need to pair it with other things. I’m aiming at a build for near-zero CD Blood Wave.

I currently use:

Tidal (amulet) - Two more Blood Waves
Potent Blood (Ring) - Blood Orbs add essence at full life.
Fastblood (Ring) - Orbs reduce ultimate CD.

Disobedience (Helm) - Increase armor base on attack.
Blood Artisan (Chest) - Fire Bone Spirit after eating Orbs.
Gore Quill (Hand) - Don’t have the Howl From Below yet.
Embalmer (Pants) - Eating corpses has chance to generate Orbs.
Explosive (Mists Feet) - Creates corpses and explode corpses to generate Orbs.

Blood Seeker (2H) - Increased Blood Lance damage to primary base on # of mobs Lanced.

The last one, Aspect of Hungry Blood, I’m not sure where I can place it. Is it even needed given that Gore Quill already fires multiple lances? And, If I’m lucky enough to find Howl From Below, I’d have to give up another Aspect, which would you folks choose?

Forget howl from below , put tidal on gloves then get Rathma asoect on amulet upto 70% as when you overpower . Faster you use blood orbs with quills faster you get ult charge and bonespirits, also use a wand with lucky hit and op use a shield with +life for extra damage or a focus you can place quills on

Which aspect should I remove for it?

I playtested a little last night with my original set up. The skill bar is as follow:

C-Explosion (shadow)
B-Mist (Create corpses and detonate)
B-Tide
C-Tendril (Orbs)
Blood Lance
Decrepify

Book of the Dead: Sacred all minions for crit chance, overpower damage, and extra life.

I skip basic skill and rely on corpses and Orbs to regenerate my essence. The build kills faster than when I used skeletons (instead of Explosion), though I confess I miss the persistent essence generation and freeze control from ice mage. I figure having Howl would make it less tedious with mob/Explosion positioning. An alternative build I read online talks about mixing in Aspect of Ultimate Shadow (which I have) to further abuse the near-zero cooldown on Tide.

I’m still trying to figure out how to handle Butchers when I see one.

You could use the tendrils crit aspect , especially good with the corpse heart, i have tidal on my gloves you want the Rathma on amulet as you get a 50% bonus to it

Assuming you are going for the overpower version of the build, you are missing a couple of aspects.

Sacrifice aspect is really good.

The bonus overpower from it is multiplicative making it one of the best damage aspect for overpower builds.

Also Rathma’s aspect is essential. 50% attack speed equates to 50% faster triggers of overpower, it could also be seen as multiplicative damage.

Finally, Aspect of untimely death. If you have a ton of healing (which you will from blood orbs), it will offer the largest multiplicative damage bonus for overpower damage in the game but you do need a LOT of healing.

Bloodwave is trash, move away from it as soon as you can.

Is trash until the patch and even then good luck finding a way to fit it in.

Sacrifice is better on amulet at higher lvls.

I sorta agree. Currently it is bad because it is bugged. However, it does have great potential and offers the largest multiplicative bonus out of all the overpower aspects.

I believe it just needs the right build and some bug fixes and it will be a must include aspect on all overpower builds.

Default it can gain 60% multiplicative damage bonus. Which would require healing the equivalent of 120% of your health pool. This sounds hard to achieve but blood orbs offer insane healing.

Default, you gain 15% healing from blood orbs.

On gear, you can get over 100% blood orb healing received. Also if you stack willpower, one of the bonuses is healing received. my current build has 76.2% healing received.

This means, to max out the aspect of untimely death, you would only need to consume 2-3 blood orbs imbetween overpower.

This seems achievable and would result in a much bigger bonus that the current sacrifice aspect everyone is using, which only results in around an additional 16% additional multiplicative overpower.

Is it that bad? I’ve seen people use Bone Storm + barrier aspect for their low-CD build, would it be a better alternative?

Listen, just because you’re trash doesn’t mean the skills you cannot figure out how to use are trash -.-

I just picked up Frostburn, is it a good glove to use in this build since Blood Lances will be flying around with CE shadow Dots?

I don’t feel like there is one correct answer to this. Personally, I wouldn’t use them. I would rather have attack speed, essence restore on hit or some other things on my gloves. What I do in your scenario is use the unique for a while but keep your other gloves. Once you have compared for a while, make the decision to keep using or not.

Attack speed is good but by no means BIS for blood lance and gore quills. After 1.1.1 you’re better off with slightly slower, harder hitting aspects : aspect of untimely death.

Pre T85 or so you can run blood wave just fine. After you may want more defenses. Barber is not needed at all for this build. In fact I find Barber more annoying for BL than useful. At the very top I prefer lidless wall and bone storm. Here’s a short demo I recorded today on my PS5 and I show the aspects, talents and paragon at the end.

Note that when I don’t have cooldowns it’s not good. Hope this helps. I don’t really do videos like this and don’t really intend to so not “advertising”.
