So the answer to this is just probably “RNGeezus is being stingy” but felt worthwhile to bring up. I’ve been in WT4 since about level 65 (I am 89 now). I feel like I have gotten a thousand legendary items and not 1, I repeat, not ONE legendary (sacred or ancestral from WT3 or 4) has dropped with Umbral. Not even like “hey this is a min roll and i have the codex so ill delete it.” Not one.
The other day I spent basically an entire play session gathering obols to gamble rings so maybe I could click the “ON” button for the aspect. I gambled 4 entire stacks, probably got 10-11 legendary rings. Nothing…
I have been mindlessly grinding NMD, NMV, Helltides to try and maximize legendary loot drops.
This #feelsbad and also is kind of frustrating. Thankfully there’s a codex option, but something feels off. Maybe it’s just ultra rare. Maybe i’m extremely unlucky.
RNG, for the most part, does not exist in this game. Your loot drops are either in part or completely controlled by an AI Looting System designed to force you to spend as much time logged in as possible. This increases the chances that you spend money in the cosmetics shop to get your dopamine hits.
For the people who are going to reply to me. I don’t care that you don’t agree. I don’t care that it’s “tin foil hat” theory. I’ve spent enough time on this game and kept track of what affix combinations drop and how often, what aspects drop and how often. The game 100% knows what I’m using, what would benefit my build, what I’m looking for, and actively avoids it unless I switch to another build/character that does not need it.
Blizzard is grimy. 100% untrustworthy and shady through and through. They will resort to any low in order to make more money.
AI exists and it is creeping into every aspect of our daily lives. Don’t think for one second companies like this are not already secretly using it to benefit themselves simply because they can get away with it.
Umbral can be rare. This season i didn’t get a 4 sec one until well after 100. Last season i got one at lvl 19 i think. Very helpful

Same thing here. You can’t even farm aspects because nothing worth a crap is dropping. Just unbelievable that a game could be so great and fall so far.
I am Level 70. Dungeons drop nothing, merchants sell nothing, monsters drop nothing, Helltides drop nothing, treasure goblins drop nothing, quests drop items 2 levels below your current, major bosses drop nothing, World Bosses drop very little.
Before Season 3, I fought a World Boss by myself. Level 100. It was 6:30am and very few were on the server. Took 15 minutes, but I beat the boss. NOTHING. This type of crap from the developers is absurd.
These facts are not being heard. For every person complaining, there are probably 50 out there just saying, “What’s the point?”
Is this how Blizzard ends…
I hope not, but it’s demise is in it’s own hands since the FCC is looking to overturn the recent acquisition by Microsoft.
Programmers, Software Developers, Engineers, Network Specialists, etc., I will give you some advice. With recent news I know it is crazy there right now, but standing around chatting all day is not the solution. Stay busy. Keep your co-workers busy. You are a Phoenix right now that has burst into flames. FIGURE OUT HOW TO RISE FROM THE ASHES. And if you do, you will be more proud of the company than you ever have been of anything, except maybe your marriage or you children.
