i’m curious as to why the temper for curse size is not affecting this aspect?
it’s almost a dead aspect without it extending past melee range.
the only melee build i can think of is blood surge— and it’s like an F tier build
what is the thought process behind this?
we received a bunch of new aspects but no new slots for gear, so why would anyone take this ?
i love the idea of it, going back to the aura from season of blood. but the execution is leaving a lot to be desired

is it even working?
corpse tendril size shows up in the stat & materials tab, but curse size does not.
anyways it has zero impact, tested by standing still and adding removing 60% curse size while checking the edge of my aura against a stone on the floor. no increase or decrease in size against the stone reference point.
yeah i hope this gets looked at was a big let down
Yeah, this aspect is a waste of a slot currently. Also great feast is not worth the essence drain anymore after the heavy handed nerf. I was looking forward to the synergy between these two for a summoner but i’m sorely disappointed. On an unrelated note they also gutted shadowblight knocking summoners down even further. All after making the spec good in the previous season. Typical blizzard whack-a-mole balance.
What nerf? It’s the same 30-45% as it was in the PTR.
The only reason to use the curse aspect, may to have both curses without need to slot in skill bar.
I dont see many uses with minion build, which tend to stay far away.
About the Great Feast, i did many tests and the essence drain isnt that bad if you use it on amulets or two handed weapon.
When you put in these slots, it drain 2 essence per minion (instead 1), but for some reason it not drain till you had full required (24 essence considering 12 minions), so you can keep using the curse that coast 10 essence before it starting drain.
Maxroll suggest you use affix “essence per sec”, but i dont think it needed.
i think he means the typo on the patch notes before they corrected it when it said 125% which would have been mental given they just nerfed blighted aspect because it was 120%.
that would have been 250% on a scythe too LOL.

Upon playing with this a bit it’s not so bad with the 0.3 speed. Just have to duck in then it spreads to everything in a couple of seconds. Very usable even if the current implementation is treated as a bug.
I find it ok. Not omg great, but its ok.
Makes it easier since most of the time I have zero essence due to great feast, but not like I really need essence anyhow. I’ve actually experimented while leveling with using points in iron maiden now - gaining life per kill is actually pretty decent when I don’t have to give a bar slot up to get it and minions have extra points laying around anyhow.
Yeah but you have to put yourself in melee range, and necro only has Sever and Blood Surge for that, all other builds you want to remain ranged. So unless you BM in to a pack of mobs, you put yourself in danger.

What I usually do for trash is run up to them, then evade through. Then let the curse propagate itself all over. Especially against trash mobs, they die so fast it doesn’t even matter. With bosses, I touch and go every so often. I usually just edge the aura close enough to apply it, then run away.
Can’t say I’ve tried it in the pit yet though. Could be a rather backfired strategy, but its worked in everything else… so far.

It’s risky but managable. Still the increased size temper working with it would be realy nice.

Oh 100% agree. Imagine that aura having 2x the radius? That would be beyond amazing, but yet, not breaking anything. Just a massive QoL win.

Try this. Put on item with the aspect. Remove all points from decrepify and iron maiden. Put points back on. Check results.
Try use great feast in amulets, this solved the essence drain because it only drain when you have 24 or more (2 essence per minion).
Most time i have essence to keep casting curses. If i use the aspect on rings or slots that drain 1 essence per minion, i suffer way more.
Unfortunately my build dont have free slots for the curse aspect, and honestly, i dont like let my build entirely passive.

this aspec is the best thing since sliced bread , but it needs a boost in range yeah
I’ve been trying really hard to like the Cursed Aspect, but I’m going to replace it with another more useful Aspect. The big problem with this Aspect is the limited range to curse. It forces you to be right in the middle of the action which is less than ideal for a minion build unless you’re playing a Bone Storm version instead of the AotD version that I prefer.
I can see myself continuing to use this Aspect if they didn’t change the way the Helltide Commander works but with the current change, there’s even less reason to be in the center of a fight this season.

It’s good for a Blood Surge build. Lets you just charge into enemies and grab extra essence from all the Iron Maiden procs and helps with cooldowns. And hes, some people do play Blood Surge because they’re sick of playing the same build every season.
The aspect that makes me scratch my head is the one that gives increased crit damage on overheal. That seems pretty good combined with certain things, actually, until you get to higher levels, start critting more and never really get to take advantage of the bonus as it keeps resetting quickly.
you need to play this aspect with a bit of curse duration and it only really becomes viable when you get the perfect version of the aspect. at 0.3, it spreads vary quickly meaning you have your curses up on everything before you can even get in range of more distant enemies.
