So I guess the loot box that drops when you kill isn’t garunteed? It didn’t drop on the ground for me, and it wasn’t in my stash in town. 
Been looking for something like this all day the same thing happened to me and I guess we are just out of luck.
Did you do the battle earlier today? it is a weekly reward
My loot was in my stash, first time and first win though so don’t know if actually beating the event or just participating earns you the reward…

Meet the same problem, I guess you failed first time? Even if the battle failed, it still shows that the week reward has been claimed, I think this is a bug.

Weekly reward has nothing to do with item drops. I got weekly reward on my first fail attempt and got multiple item rewards the other successful attempts I did.

I think this is the correct answer, I had a few friends chat it out and they realized it might be because they failed it the first time. So basically if you dont kill the World boss the first time you encounter it then you lose that cache, even if you killed it on the 2nd try you dont get it. And yeah i think this isint intended might be a bug.
