I am playing a summoner necromancer for full disclosure.
World events like helltide or realmwalker are not fun as I am unable to contribute at all, enemies are dead before they even spawn, its rare I even see a health bar pop up before everything is dead. This does not give my minions time to attack.
The Dark Citedal is the same, I am just following spiritborn players around and not contributing at all, if i happen to find a monster before them I am busy fighting them and maybe get the monster to half health before its vaporized by a spiritborn.
At first I found it compical that I was so weak in comparison, but now I just avoid all social play as much as I can.
I understand you don’t want to nerf mid season as its unfair on those players who farmed up gear, but could you maybe give spirit borns a 99% reduced damage delt debuff in world events and group play to allow the rest of us to take part? This way their builds are not changed and they get to blast in solo play without losing power.
This would only solve problems in the dark citadel, and sadly its rare to find such groups. I have resorted to just looking for groups with low paragon level hoping in less powerful spirit borns… but nope.
You know what I find a little funny? Is that in S4 when minion necro finally became a strong option. People were complaining how it was annoying because every time they were about to attack a mob… say at a Maiden event, a minion would already have killed it and all they did was run around chasing air.
Personally, I love minion necro and that is why I am in the process of making one for this season.
This goes to show the cycle of power throughout the game. It would be nice if they would just round out the power instead of having cycles of strong vs weak classes.
Agreed. But I don’t think they are interested in actual balance. Think less like scales and more like a pendulum. One class is OP and then it’s replaced and is not and so on and so forth.
I know for me, it has actually made me play classes/specs I might otherwise not have.
I used to be only necro but at some point I started moving into other classes to the point that now, I rather like playing different things.
Well, except Druid. I just can’t. No matter what I dress it up with… it’s just the big clunky thing that defies my concept of a druid. It looks like it ate the druids. I’ll probably never play that class lol. Even if it one day becomes as broken as SB.
I like to find the mechanics I enjoy and that tends to be lesser tried builds. For example, companion Druid. ATM Frenzy/Dust Devil Barb, Last season Chain Lightning Sorc.
I am suggesting that you can manipulate where you want to the minions to go. Through use of your curse or by proximity. People often fall back on complaining on minion AI and it for sure could be better but it was never something that bothered me at least.
And yes, I feel I can make a comparison. Broken is broken in my book. It doesn’t matter if it’s a little or a lot.
As the great Dominic Toretto from Fast and the Furious once said…
“It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning’s winning.”
druid summoner is the only other class i have considered lol
I don’t really have an issue with the fat druid idea when you consider that is based loosely on bears. But I get it, i kinda hate the edge lord haircuts on necromancers myself… I just select lots of hair and a beard each season
I actually wanted a fat bloated corpse necromancer… that would be kinda cool. imagine an obese sorc though LMAO.
With a controller, if you dont have a corpse you can somewhat do this. When you use your default attack skill or the Skeleton Skill the minions will go/attack what you tell them to if they aren’t engaged with something. I know its not exact but its somewhat useful.
im actually not bothered by minion AI much either, though its a huge complaint amongest most summoners. It is annoying when trying to push harder content like pits and your minions are just standing in the wrong room of wailing on a random add while the boss is at 5% health and the timer is about to run out
To repeat the sacred parable by the Great Sage Toretto, then one is truly losing by an inch.
All classes can blast the open world. This isnt exclusive to SB. SB will be nerfed eventually but not until mid season or after season end. Even after SB nerf u face the same issue.
this is the first season I have had this experience, all other seasons with easier content (remember open world was way easier in the past) I at least contributed, and in some cases carried.
I am decked out on my summoner, I can destroy open world T4, its just that spirit born can kill things so fast you don’t even see things spawn before they are dead now LOL.
Is this the first season u play? Its been the same before and now we even got t4 which is harder than it been before. Open world always been a OS fest.
Like every other class. Thats why there is no challenge there. And i would say its prolly not suppose to be.
And LS sorc were killing things outside screen. Nothing new and nothing exclusive to SB rly.
no one was or is suggesting the game was balanced in the past, its just a case of it being much worse. yes charge barb was annoying and ruined the game for others, and people complained, yes lightning sorc was irritating and it got mid season nerfed.
I am suggesting nothing more nothing less then what blizzard has done in the past to let other players enjoy the game too, we don’t need to strawman this discussion buddy
U are strawmanning now. The discussion was about that you cant contribute in open world. Which isnt because of SB. The open world is made to be blasted and the other classes are blasting it without any issue. The characters outscale that content. U blaming SB, but infact they would need to nerf all classes to make open world a content which isnt OS.
U say u understand that they wont nerf now but at the same time i asking them to nerf SB.
They will nerf SB eventually but the issue will still exist.
