I was having no issues prior to installing the latest Nvidia driver version via Geforce Experience (537.42 which shows a release date of 09/21/2023 [today]), then immediately after installation I started noticing really bad graphics artifacts both inside and outside of the game. I tried rebooting and the problems persisted. I decided to try rolling back to the previous driver version and all of the problems completely vanished and everything is working fine again. I’m curious if anyone else is noticing issues. I have an EVGA RTX 3090ti FTW3 Ultra.
I don’t really want to say it, but the one and only time I’ve ever seen artifacting (globally and not in one program) was immediately before my graphics card died.
I think it’s up to .99 right now, are you having issues with the newest?
Too much heat can cause it to happen temporarily, but that makes no sense for when you’re on desktop and not loading it.
It may also be a good idea to check that the cooling is okay. I hope everything turns out okay for you.
I know this game uses too many resources at times and it’s running uncapped and redlining cards… I put a 144fps lock on it (refresh rate lock) and it helped.
Yeah I checked thermals and they are all fine. This is an EVGA card (last one they made) so it has a very beefy heatsink and good fans on it. Keeps it quite cool. It’s just strange that all of the problems went away as soon as I rolled back the driver and no problems existed before the driver upgrade.
I don’t know. I know a lot of reports have come out from players reporting overheating and the issues have largely been on more powerful cards. 3080 / 3090 and above weirdly.
I got my own warning light when I first started playing this game, for the first week before I updated to the newer drivers the game was actually overloading my surge protector and shutting the computer off -_-
I’ve had this same setup with same UPS for over a year and haven’t seen any problems until now. While I can’t completely discount a potential hardware issue, the timing and the sudden resolution after rolling back the driver are incredibly suspect. My case is all mesh and the fans on the card are facing the mesh paneling, so the card has really good airflow available to it, I’d be surprised if it died due to thermals. I also have a 1000w PSU in here which is overkill for this card (could get away with an 850w).
UPDATE: I just took thermal readings during gameplay, GPU maxes out at 48C, VRAM maxes out at 56C, GPU Hotspot Temp maxes out at 65C before the fans kick on and quickly bring it back down. All very much within the acceptable range.
I’ve just updated nVidia drivers for CP2077 and do have same issue.
All kinds of squares all over the screen.
Going to revert to previous stable one.

Roll back driver,Sometime they work better on some systems ,but sometimes they dont.
Pleteny of updated drivers i get are not as good as older ones, some cause heat prob some cause w/e. Roll back and wait for another update.
Update: downgraded to 537.34 and haven’t experienced mentioned issues anymore.
This sounds like an issue with the latest driver. For now, don’t update it.
I’m still using 535.98 from June 1st. No issues.
Howdy guys,
Thanks for doing all this testing. I’ve passed this information up to our tech team.
