I don’t understand how so many of you are accepting of just grinding to 100 every 3 months for the next 9 years when Lost Ark showed us the genre can be so much more than just grind dungeons with “affixes”.
I love diablo 4 but this end game is a decade old philosophy.

You know… outside of feeling forced to grind the same content on 7 alts to feel like you can keep up with the wallet warriors, Lost Ark actually does an insanely good job with their “endgame content”
Everything from an actual fun and competitive templated pvp system (not talking about island memes)
Their open world mmo-lite optional content
4 man dungeons with easy and harder difficulties for everyone to experience.
8 man raids with easy and harder difficulties for everyone to experience.
1-4 man daily boss content
1-4 man “mini dungeon-like” enemy hordes content.
Very advanced player housing and transmog etc
Outside of the god-awful P2W systemic issues the game is pretty impressive overall.
I think the key difference is offering similar types of endgame content BUT turn them into a soloable 1 player version. More like PoE does with its variety of endgame systems.

Lost Ark isn’t that good.
The raids are too hard for the majority of people. It suffers from the same problems as WOW retail.
People like easy content they can farm. This is how you get a large player base.
Lost Ark also has too many MMO features like dailies, weeklies, etc. It’s too much of a commitment.

this is a TERRIBLE take.
the raids have easy mode version for those who want to experience the content in an easier format and if you think the entire game content should be “easy” just so everyone can “finish it”, then i guess we just disagree on a fundamental level.

Nope this is reality.
This is why classic wow was more popular than retail when it launched.
People want EASY content they can farm after working at a stressful job and dealing with a stressful life.
You need to wake up to reality.

Yeah, let’s think about it
You’re comparing an korean f2p, p2w MMO to loot based aRPG. That’s first red flag.
Another one is, knowing what endgame in LA looks like, you want to lock MILIONS of solo players from content because MMOs like LA demand and force coop to do majority of endgame
In short - You’re one of those “new MMO kids” that never played loot based aRPG and now you demand the 20yo franchise to completly change because “I don’t like this toy! I want it to be what I imagined!”
Thank god vast majority of players don’t want any more of that MMO crap in Diablo

I mean sure – Blizzard could make a Diablo MMO – that is, a full-on MMO that just has ARPG combat – if they wanted to. It wouldn’t be a Diablo game, though, it would be an MMO with ARPG combat.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard does make a Diablo-themed game like that, although it would be very different from a Diablo game. Among other things, the way loot works in MMOs (never mind Lost Ark’s horrific loot upgrade system, even in “Western” MMOs it’s different) is fundamentally different from the way loot works in ARPGs, so right off the bat core design elements and player experience elements are very different.
I do wonder, though, why so many people who don’t seem to like ARPGs beyond the combat style alone are playing an ARPG?

This is why i wanted diablo 4 to fix lost ark flaws by offering a battle pass $15 system every couple months… instead we’re going to get fire season, ice season, poison season grinding the same dang dungeons

Lost Ark is an MMORPG not an ARPG.

Because this is what they have been doing for 2 decades.

It’s an mmoarpg just like diablo 4.

…too hard…? I mean sure wow has mostly 50+ year old boomers that dont know the A key from the W key but I think lost ark has way more intelligent players than that.
Lost Ark has 800k bots and 200k players because all the casual people left after they couldn’t do the raids.
People want easy content they can farm. That is why Diablo IV sold millions of copies.
And even though most of D4 is super easy, people are still complaining it’s too hard and quitting.

Diablo 4 sold millions of copies because it’s diablo. And because there was no solid info on endgame before release so nobody knew how uninspired and insulting it is.

Not even remotely close.
massive issue with bots is just a free2play game with economy issue and most people leave because the game requires massive amount of upkeeping unless you pay 2 win in order to keep up.
it has zero to do with its content modes difficulty. NOTHING.
Also diablo 4 didnt sell millions of copies because its easy. It sold the way it does because of the franchise name built by its predecessors diablo 1 2 and 3 to a degree. ZERO to do with it being considered an “easymodegame”.

You really bring up Lost Ark as a positive example for ARPG games?
Where lost ark is far from an ARPG. It is an MMO.
And it is the most boring F2P MMO i ever saw with literally no reward in the gameplay.
What are you smoking OP?
If it would be possible, i would have refunded those hours of my life i have spent playing it.

Lost ark has bad questing but the combat in lost ark makes diablo 4 look like it was made by a group of slow toddlers. That’s the main reason its like 20x more fun to play. Oh, and theres actual things to do in that game when you finish questing.

Ehh it’s not really easy either especially if you’re playing it blind and not looking up min max builds and etc.
I lot of what you just named is why I stopped playing MMOs. Adding group-only content to Diablo would cause me to completely quit the game.
I want games I can hop in and play any time without relying on other people or formulating a schedule around it. I’d rather they add something like an endless dungeon that 4-8 mang dungeons or housing.

You can solo dungeons or do them in a group for harder content and better rewards.
That’s how it works in lost ark so…
