Armory Usage and Problem

The armory is a great idea to try different builds while keeping the first build readily available to re-gear. However, when you swap out a build…all the gear gets saved to your stash and when you have more than one build saved from one or more characters….the armory gear in my stash gets rather confusing and at times, although there is a symbol which does show that is a gear in one of the saved builds….I inadvertently lose or salvage. Simply put…having all the armory gear in my stash is not a neat and clean save.

If we could have the gears that get saved in the armory be saved into an Armory Stash….that would make it much more simple and I would be able to try more that 2 or even 3 builds on the same toon.

As of now…I have quit using the Armory altogether. I am curious as to how many people utilize the armory

An Armory stash would mean more stash space and in D4 stash space is a complicated matter.

I allocated a stash tab to my Armory loadouts.

I stopped using the armory because of the gear storage issue. It was too easy for a piece to accidentally get broken or a piece to get incorporated into a different build and lock things up.

The armory we have is half functional at best.

Yea, however it was programmed in D3 was far better. Zaven even mentioned people not using the armory in D4 as much. Well obviously, it’s half baked and missing half of the functionality the D3 armory had. It just feels clunky all around.

Now granted D3 didn’t have the ability to store your gear in the armory itself, but it definitely swapped things in and out for you, including the normal gems, legendary gems, and I want to say even the paragon. If you were wearing a legendary gem required for the loadout you were switching to, it would take that into account and just swap it. No extra steps involved.

No. Paragon Points are not saved with the D3 Armory. But, that is not really a problem. Especially once you hit Paragon 800. At that point you only need to check your Core Tab and your Details Sheet (Movement Speed).

For example, one of your builds may need all 50 Points in Movement Speed. Another build may only need a couple of Movement Speed Points. The difference being put into your Mainstat.

Or, if one build doesn’t have enough Vitality, you may want to add some Points there.

D3’s Armory is hands down better than D4’s Armory.

The first time I tried to use the D4 Armory it wouldn’t let me switch from the build I was currently using. Not a single item would switch out. After playing around with it for a few minutes I discovered I had to remove all my Gems and Runes before the Armory would switch my gear. After that, I could then insert the correct Gems and Runes for that build. When I wanted to switch back I had to repeat this process.

D3’s Armory doesn’t have this issue.

The Armory in D4 seems to be an unfinished feature and nothing was done to improve it in past seasons. Seems not many are using it and the Devs don’t want to invest in it.

The reason for the lack of interest appears in the OP. Stash space is too limited to properly manage several loadouts.

Still, I use the Armory and appreciate that is was added to the game despite its limits.

…Just give us some more stash space!

Yes…if we could have an Armory stash which is separate from the main stash so once a gear is saved in the armory and swapped out, it stays in the Armory stash and does not enter the main stash, that would be great. It would go a long way in playing various builds easier and more enjoyable.

I’d be happy if Blizzard gave us an extra Stash Tab that was a Personal Stash Tab. At least then we’d have a place to store extra items for multiple builds exclusive to our current in-game Character.

Even in D3 we get a maximum of 3 Pages with 5 Tabs on 2 Pages and 3 Tabs on the third Page. Although, none of them are Personal Tabs.

D3 gives us a maximum of 910 Stash Slots (70 x 13): https://i.imgur.com/wDFCXl6.png

D4 gives us a maximum of 350 Stash Slots (50 x 7): https://i.imgur.com/nDebG31.jpg

It works fine for those who know how to use it. Yet another post of the armory is broken. I have 12 builds over four characters. No problems for those who know.

Yes, I am sure there are many who are very good at organizing and utilizing the Armory at its current state. I find myself unable to do so and I do believe there are more of us than those who can…Maybe it is a bit selfish to ask the devs to make it simple and easy to use because I can’t deal with the level of organization it requires. However, once the simplification is done…there will be many many players grateful for it and keep them playing happily.

It works just like it did in D3. If you have trouble just pull the runes before switching. It’s really quite simple.

armory reminds me of google’s modular handphone that failed. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Armory is trash. IT doesnt switch everything and it should. Should also store merc choices and store your gear in it.

Used one time, its stupid, waste of pixels.

Why am I not having a problem with the armory and find it very useful? It’s called understanding what it can and cannot do and adapting.

People who can adapt to the environment are always more successful than those who are rigid inflexible thinkers…

Yes, that has been established….There are those who are able to do so…and there are people like me who are not. That is why we humbly ask the devs to provide some assistance and make it simpler….lol

Personally while I can see some use of the Armory… I personally won’t use it, until it has it’s own stash for the gear; it keeps transmogs, keeps runes, keeps gems, and keeps skills and paragon. Basically switching with the armory can be the same and changing character but keeps the body, and look that doesn’t change. At that point, it is what I want to use it for.
