Been a long time player - like Diablo 1 player here. I tested out closed BETA for D4 and I had a whole written up review, but couldn’t really put it out there because of NDA. BUT! That is besides the point.
I’ve seen a few posts about a few features missing from Diablo 4 that were in Diablo 3. Ayo Developers, where is our armory?! Gold is a pain as it is - I mean, for me at least - where is our closet for switching specs and paragon tables? And don’t get me started on the UI - it is trash btw. You all had a great template in Diablo 3, and decided to just trash it and not improve on what you all already had. So you know what…
Blizzard fix your game. Get rid of the season battle pass - this isn’t Call of Duty, leave that to Actvision part of you all - and bring back what WORKED for this franchise. And you all may want to look at the story too…where are the nephs? I mean, you all kind of threw it in our faces like crazy last game. But anyway, this is about gameplay and whatnot.
So, there is my two cents for you Blizzard. Take it or leave it. Same goes for the Community. But if it were up to me, I think you all really should take the suggestion we have been throwing at you all. Because before you know it, some of your long time players are going to be tell you all (in not so kind ways), laters.

The D3 Armory is a “feature” that should never return.
They should bring back what works, both in the franchise, but maybe more importantly, in other A-RPGs. Not doing what D3 did is a very good start to achieve that.
I personal liked the closet; it made it easier for me to switch between my speed run specs and regular specs. LOL.
But you are right on the A-RPG features. I played a few and there are some many features that could work in D4.
Can you explain in detail, and with some degree of knowledge, why armory should not be a thing in Diablo 4?

The issue with armoury for builds is the repsec isn’t free, so how much do you pay to switch and good luck balancing that out. I know no respec isn’t everyons cup of tea, but
it’s good.
This game is different, we are used to caring for our characters some of us, i am one like that, and i will have at least one of each like it, Depending on how many slots we get in the future, hopefully another 10-15
But The design is really about not hoarding characters and gear basically. Its playing them and when you are done keep some but some will be rotatable, especially seasonals. Them aren’t really meant to be kept forever, aside from some loot.
- How many do we get i have made at least 10 builds in my journey from 0-78 so far.
All of them would turn into more builds if i was to take one piece and then play it 10 different ways.
So there is never enough slots i would think to balance with the cost , I honestly feel the can spend time improving more important
things at least at this stage.
Thats how i see the issue at hand for what it’s worth.

I see your side of things. You are right about the cost of re-spec - how would that work for the Armory and switching back and forth. There is a lot that the Devs should look into, but this is just me being a dork and venting. lol.
Thank you for sharing your opinion.

well it hasnt changed anything in closed beta , it will not change in the future
those devs have no clue and it seems like they have no good programmers anymore
Free or close to free respecs should not be a thing, it ruins the concept of making builds with strengths and weaknesses, when players can just switch constantly. Which in turn makes it hopeless to balance content too.
Can you have a Armory while also having expensive respecs? Theoretically yeah. In which case, I’d be kinda okay with their existence. That certainly wasnt the D3 Armory however, and generally, an Armory feels like a step toward free or close to free respecs. They are already too cheap now.
