ARM64 Support - Snapdragon Elite X

Hello!

It’s definitely time to release ARM64 support–I’m sure both the MacOS and new Windows device users would be very happy. WoW has an ARM64 client, please work on this for Diablo.

I expect ARM to begin to cannibalize the “lower end” to mid range laptop market here in due time. The Snapdragon Elite X is the real deal.

I’m sure Mac users would be appreciative also!

what even is ARM64 if i may ask?

As the name implies, the 64-bit ARM architecture. And while the ARM64 CPUs (especially Apple’s) are quite good in the performance per watt arena, their associated IGPs are not. WoW, which is CPU intensive and should thus love Apple’s ARM64 variants, still requires using FSR + lower render scales at 1440p/4k if you want 60-120 FPS. Until you start seeing ARM64 based PCs with PCIe slots and a lot more RAM than what’s available now, they aren’t going to be stellar for high end gaming.

WoW got this only because it was essentially Blizzard’s internal “learning curve” beta test of ARM64 Windows. Had it not been for that happy coincidence, management would have told Apple to stick it where the sun don’t shine and that’d be all she wrote on macOS. If performance keeps deteriorating and/or the Battle.net app keeps breaking as atrociously as it has been the last year and a half, TWW will be macOS’ last rodeo with WoW. I suspect Rommax will keep WoW afloat, but as there is no more “macOS development team” and hasn’t been for a decade now, this game isn’t going to come out for macOS period.

Wait since when did D4 work on Mac?

Since you can just launch windows emulator thing?

Well yes there is that, but you can’t just run the game on Mac OS without doing so. Unlike their previous iterations of the game which have no issues working on Mac.

The Surface Pro 11 is actually good. But I returned mine because of dust trapped under the OLED screen.

This is going to be elitist of me… but anyone who games on a Mac should be pointed at and laughed at.

#PCMASTERRACE!

I think that’s why he said Mac users would appreciate it, because now they can finally play d4 lol

To be honest, I don’t think there are many mac gamers anyways.

If you care about gaming, you either have a console or a PC, or both. Mac is for work only, contrary to apple ads, mac is for work for the most part lol. Entertainment is so limited on iOS it’s not even funny.

Correction. Entertainment is limited on MacOS.

iOS currently dominates the gaming industry both in terms of number of titles and raw revenue. Mobile gaming makes up about 50% of all gaming revenue worldwide and Apple’s App store is the majority of that about 65% compared to Andriod platforms 35%.

This right here, is the world we need. Yeah, competition is good for innovation, but apple doesn’t help with anything in the industry except seeing how much people will pay for sub-par devices that’re so locked down they should have prison names for their software revisions.
