I’ve been thinking of buying the vessel of hatred expansion and I wanted to know if we’re gonna be able to play with our existing characters in the new dlc? It’s just crucial for me to know cause I’m a guy who bonds with his characters.

on eternal realm you will be able to, yes.

Bonding with your characters is not allowed around here.
You must create a new character every 6 weeks and trash the one you were previously working on.
This is a seasonal game

Blizz COULD also not make all my farmed items worhtless 3 times in a year.

Yes you can. Your power wil be diminished a little due to some rebalancing but you can continue the story which is the purpose of the eternal realm.

Actually for those who chase platinum trophies with the goal to 100% D4. Well that’s some serious living no life amount of hours. Myself included lol, it’s of course important that the original character has done it all. To your point yes if you want to dig in to all the new meat. You indeed must make a new character every season.
Character rebirths actually fix this problem

on seasonal realm you always start fresh, just like in every other season before.
But will I be able to play vessel of hatred on a previously played seasonal realm?
i assume you are new?
seasonal realms reset every 3 months. (2 months in this case, due to a 4 month season we had before)
so you cant play VoH on previously played seasonal realms. Your characters move over to eternal after the end of every season, so if you want to keep using that character, youd need to play VoH on Eternal.

Oh so when the season ends it turns eternal and I will be able to play VoH off the back of that?

If you wish to yes. You can take any Eternal character through the campaign of VoH if you so desire. Or you can make a brand new character on the Seasonal Realm and complete the campaign that way.
Either way the campaign will be designed for people starting at level 1. So your previous Seasonal character, which will now be on Eternal, will probably breeze through the campaign with ease.
