Haven’t played in almost three months. Haven’t checked any news. Are they allowing us to zoom out further yet? Likely won’t play until they fix this.
I could even play with the myriad of other problems if this is fixed.
Thanks.

Unfortunately not. They are fixing an absolute horde of other problems though. Might be worth a look to see if you like the changes. Season 2 is looking like where launch should have been.
no but the monsters will be reskinned in red color!
oh and you can buy it again on steam for full price.
that’s all you missed
Well there are still some fundemental flaws, contradicting ideas… Just to name a few:
Itemization still sucks: the ‘faceplant of progression’ in wt4 still persists because of the ancestral system. Aspect system is still annoying and shallow. Items feel shallow overall, maybe the new uniques help.
Open world serves no purpose after the campaign and is never viable to farm. Or maybe the problem is the campaign offers nothing after finishing it. Leveling in adventure mode is much much faster, so noone bothers walking through the story ever again. Mob density is abysmal making 90% of content useless.
There are still some flaws in the core gameplay, like vulnerable or skilltrees or how few ways we actually get to make a proper build. There are still a looooot of work to be done for me to call it similar to what d1, d2 or d3 was like at the start.
Not yet sadly. When i heard them talking about zoom. I was like could this be, however it was just for the minimap to be zoomed out just a bit further to help navigate in towns, dungeons map etc a bit easier.
Supposed to be addressed at second campfire chat. Hopefully more improvements there.
Mob density still abysmal? Thought that was one thing they were fixing before I called it quits. The rest of it I’m not surprised about, but I could still have fun with some other classes (I only played Sorc) for a bit if they zoomed out.
If you want to play zoomed out, you could use ultrawide on a 16:9 screen. You absolutely do get more zoomed out from your character and get more horizontal information. It is the same as zooming out, except you don’t get any extra vertical information. But playing the game, it will absolutely feel more zoomed out and the horizontal information is the most important anyway.
negative. ive 2 ultrawide 1440p displays. you are not more zoomed out in 21:9, its a horizontal field of view, so theres more info on the sides.
the game needs an FOV slider. its really bad.
This is a problem of people not understanding perspective and dimensions. But its the same effect as zooming out, if you leave out the vertical information. When i play ultrawide on my 42" 4k 16:9 OLED, its definitely the same as being more zoomed out, because it is ultrawide in a 16:9 container. Look at D4 gameplay on youtube with ultrawide gameplay and compare it to D4 16:9 gameplay. Its more zoomed out, since its ultrawide put into a 16:9 container.
This have nothing to do with color work, it has to do with your lack of understanding the physics of perspective and dimensions.
With playing D4 in Ultrawide, you gain horizontal information while not losing any vertical information. So if you put all that information into a 16:9 container, its the same effect as zooming out, except you dont gain any vertical information. This is a factual matter, you only need to understand it. Putting a Ultrawide picture into a 16:9 container will make the game look exactly as it would look zoomed out, minus the vertical information. All you are doing while zooming out in a game is gaining vertical and horizontal information. So its not exactly the same, since you gain vertical information by zooming out, but it is exactly the same for the horizontal information.
sigh. dont quit your day job kid. no one is arguing increasing the horizontal ratio increased visible width, but it doesnt change that the zoom is still absurdly tight. play Diablo 3 or PoE and youll notice how significantly zoomed in diablo 4 is.
If you were one of the people lucky enough to find a Uber unique… Congratulations that crap is now junk… ilvl is cap is now 920
Im telling you that playing Diablo 4 on a 16:9 widescreen, while having the game in Ultrawide resolution, putting that Ultrawide image into the 16:9 container screen, WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS ZOOMING OUT, minus the extra vertical information. You are literally playing a more zoomed out game doing this, minus the vertical information you actually gain from zooming out.
If the game had zoom, i could demonstrate this for you, since seeing is believing.
Haha, no MFer worth talking about ever got a Uber unique, so you know exactly why that was not relevant for that thread. Genius.
And they don’t understand that literally the same problem exists with the core gameplay?
That I can’t see where I’m going or what I’m trying to shoot at?
This is impressively incompetent.
I am with the OP: Let me know when they fix the zoom.
I know that….
It’s hard to express sarcasm in text… but if you read any of my 100’s of posts I bring that point up a lot…
But good job
It’s precisely why D4 is a scam and crap game… it’s just a joke!
I thought you were making fun of my other thread lol.
Zoom will likely not change due to the hardware limitations of the consoles. They want al platforms to be the same.
There would be a lot of angry console players if only PC got the zoom option and the last thing they want is more backlash.
nope… they locked the zoom due to streamers pointing out how unfair it is for people with wide screens to see so much more of the screen in pvp…
before this was pubic beta, you could see even more out the in the open beta but after open beta how some streamers made a big stink about the unfair extra view people with wide screen monitors, bliz nerf’d it back to the 1980s
