Are Infernal Hordes the most efficient way of getting Ingolith?

I finally have all of my gear Masterworked 4/12. Now I need to get Ingolith, and I’m wondering what is the best way to farm for it. I’m not terribly geared enough yet to speedfarm Pit 101. Would I be better off speedfarming, say, Pit 50s or running Infernal Hordes for the material chest at the end?

well the hordes for sure make the pit kinda obsolete this season (which im not a big fan of). in the end it of course depends on how high you can comfortably run. does your build support a lot of AOE damage? then the hordes is definately the place to go, as the rewards of the materials chest are… insane to say the least… Barbs on the other hand might have a better time doing pits for masterworking materials.

Well, I have been playing as a Flay Barb. So far, I’ve been able to clear IH4/5 without deaths, but there’s not enough AoE to grant me much Aether. I’ve thought about gearing up some WW gear, but things are so expensive to have 2 sets of gears/boards/skills to swap out all the time (at least for me).

well on WW youll take quite a bit on the bosses tho it seems. hence why i said, for mw mats alone, i guess pits are the better option for barbs

Pit 61 is the highest you need for Neathiron which then you can convert down into Ingolith or Obducite as needed. So if you can handle a 61 Pit, you should be fine. Otherwise anything below 61 will get you the Ingolith needed.

Obviously IH would be better, but as Nyurei said, may not be able to clear as fast with a Barb, just depends.

Thanks, guys! Hopefully I can clear 61 easy enough - like sub-5 minutes.

I generally go into a season fairly blindly. I wanted to try out Flay Barb this season, and apparently swung and miss with that decision  I don’t get much time to play, so juggling enough time and resources between 2 builds, let alone 2 classes, can be quite cumbersome for me. At least it’s a shortened season!

For me I can’t clear T6 hoards but can do T80 ~ T85 pit so I find getting Neathiron and converting it down actually gives me more than the hoards. I need to switch builds but just throwing a data point out there that your situation my vary depending on build and skill level.

Most efficient for any mats farming. I currently have 3,623 Neathiron after only a few runs.

honestly the best way anyway. play what you like. some classes are stronger, some classes are weaker. same story every season. as long as everyone can clear his stuff its fine, and thats in theory doable with any build <3

Fun Detected… Blizzard will nerf hordes next season lol…

Infernal Hordes for sure but only the odd-numbered tiers are worth doing. With 4/12 gear, you should be able to handle Tier 5, and with 8/12 gear, you can tackle Tier 7.

For my current setup, I find it easier a quicker to run The Pit for Ingolith. My Barb can’t quite do IH5 just yet without some luck. Sure am trying tho!
