I noticed a tiktok where someone used the aspect to chain crackling energy and his unstable currents cooldown was done before his unstable current ended. That real?
Yes that seems insane…im running arc lash but focus on different stats and enchants from the meta…managed up to lvl 80 and can do around T35 NM dungeons…this would help a lot.
Despite crackling energy getting a buff, I won’t be respecing back to arc lash tho since it is 100% melee playstyle XD.
Nothing seems insane and no, doesnt help a lot. Running this build already with the aspect, just a negligible buff to cdr and a 25% to the tickle that is crackling energy. Btw so annoyed at the clickbaity titles of these youtubers, these got sorcs nerfed based on beta ( this is BROKEN, New OP specc etc)
Yup, been using a similar build since day 1. I also use chain lightning that is specced to have a 25% chance to spawn a CE. Chain Lightning is useless as a serious damage spell, but it procs a LOT of crackling energy.
Lightning Sorc is all about your cool downs and keeping Unstable Currents up as much as possible.
I am level 77 doing high 30’s NM Dungeons, meaning, all mobs are well above my current level. I’ve got about a 75% uptime on Unstable Currents and am never starved for Crackling Energy.
Am I the only one that hates the CE egg hunt minigame? I stay away from CE passives entirely and just focus on stunning. Sure my cooldown for surge isn’t as fast but I can’t bring myself to chasing those orbs around.
They and speccing into making CE actually do damage takes away from so much other damage.
Yep, the over exaggeration on builds being, “OMG OP BUILD” “BEST BUILD BREAKS GAME” stupid nonsense is ruining classes into the ground, legit
Calls it the best build, does PvP with mobs at 40-50’ish nightmares, the things people do for clicks.
Naw man, that’s 100% on Blizzard. Why they made balance changes around level 20/25 play is truly beyond me.
It’s like making big balance changes in the pre-expansion patch for WoW. Nothing is tuned for that patch at that level cap so of course things are going to be out of whack, but they’ve historically nerfed stuff during that window only for the nerfed skills to go into the next expansion broken as heck while Blizzard either pretends they’re just fine or that they have no idea why the skill sucks.
I love that Blizzard often listens to feedback, but holy heck do the frequently find the most nonsensical, backwards feedback to respond to.
Seriously, making changes based off level 20/25 play in a game like Diablo 4 is absolutely mental, ludicrous stuff.
Yeah I like some of the videos on that channel but all the “NEW OP 1 SHOT” builds are in NMD < 50, and usually < 40. They have to sell the BS to get clicks.
There still isn’t, and won’t be, an actually good Sorc spec in comparison to other classes.
There is really no egg hunt, if you’re spec’d for Wizards ball lightning and Static discharge it basically spawns on top of you. Also Unstable Currents is a full 10 seconds of permanent crackling energy. Lastly Ceaseless Conduit as your 5th/6th board isn’t a damage loss at all. With charged as a glyph and only the conduit rare node + the legendary node critical hits of my crackling energy hit for 100k or so, and with as many times as it hits per second thats pretty good. I can pretty casually clear 70’s not the highest NM for sure but it is a “melee” build and sorcs dont have 90% of their damage mitigation.
Theorycrafted a similar build, a more end game that I won’t be sharing. It is insane and can do nm 100 and uber lilith in seconds.
How are we gauging build effectiveness? Lilith stagger types seem ez and not much complexity to pull off, while a build that can handle NM 100 is very different due to levels of damage output and survivability. I guess I’m curious since a blizzard/spikes build can slowly clear high tier NMDs, but having to basically slow walk and avoid any hit/projectile and spam offscreen doesnt seem like great play. When we compare to other classes doing high tier NMDs they dont alter their play styles that much because they go in with decent survivability and good damage while we seem to hard sacrifice and do “hit and run.”
No, you have not. You won’t kill Lilith with Arc Lash unless you play 10 mins of phases.
You’re overestimating the attention that developers give things like this post-beta. If this was the case, Ice Shards would have been nerfed into the floor already.
They have our money, they don’t give a flying crap now. I’ve seen nothing else to suggest otherwise.
