Applying dye to whole set no longer dyes default/unequipped slots

Applying dye to whole set no longer dyes default/unequipped slots.

Used to be since launch that when you applied a dye to a set, even slots where you have it set to “unequipped look” would also get dyed. This no longer works as of Season 7 for no apparent reason.

Please fix this. This was a feature since launch, why suddenly remove a customization option?

I understand this is not much of an issue to most people but this does impact my experience and I do not appreciate losing customization options I’ve had since launch, I’ve spent money on premium skins just to collect a couple parts of a set with this feature in mind and it no longer works.

Here are some links where others have talked about this “issue” since the launch of Season 7.

There’s also a youtube video out there showing how this used to work prior to the launch of Season 7 but it seems I cannot post youtube videos to this forum.

Update 2/4/25: Patch 2.1.1 did NOT fix this

Update 4/30/25: Still not fixed in Season 8…

I just returned to the game and always used to do that. Now that I cant do that it kind of ruins part of the xmog experience, always seems a bit strange you cant just dye the unequipped look normally as clearly dev time went into recoloring them appropriately

guess I wont be buying vessel of hatred

This change is idiotic, if it’s intentional. I spend thousands of dollars on cosmetics in these games, and I almost never use a cosmetic outfit as it’s sold in the shop. I always mix and match pieces, and on the D4 sorc, I used to regularly mix the default-look top and sandals with cosmetics from the store, by changing the pigment on them all to match each other.
