Aoz needs tuning

Please remove oneshot mechanic when you can and do not realize where it comes from, what killed you and from what direction.
Stop copying poe. Its not fun to get oneshotted without being able to play

you can do that yourself by gearing properly. Glass cannons get one shotted. easy as that.

No, tankiest of tanks get 1 spotted too, just a few levels later.

The fact that monster damage keeps scaling but our defenses don’t is a bad design.2

oh, the new glyph lets us scale defenses as well, as it increases the potency of the second affix by 10% every 10 levels. pick the right paragon board to put it on, and there we go, scaling defenses.

That does almost nothing even at max level and against the scaled monster DMG.

It’s just not even close to enough

well it increases your survivability. the one shots people complain about usually are the ghosts and the crossbow mobbs. both highly telegraphed attacks. so theres also the “get good” part involved.

OP. Didn’t you just make and delete a post about quitting?

Rarely is it the monster damage that is the cause of 1 shot. Most one shots come from explosions.
Vampiric aspect on the blood seekers is overtuned. Other than that I haven’t run into an issue that wasn’t my own fault.

Explosions and off the map ballista arrows is what gets me.

The fact remains that even the “best of the best”(I say this lightly) down to the rank & file all see some of the mobs in this game as a bit overtuned.
I would love to see more creativity with Wraiths for example.
In Dungeons and Dragons(original and AD&D) a Wraith hitting you would remove Constitution permanently. Quoting the rules: “You can save against their attack or lose 1d6 points of Constitution”
They were truly terrifying back in the day.

So yea I’ve been fighting them a very long time…haha.

So about the “Creativity” - One shots are frankly boring & uninspired. Especially when one has put the effort into stacking everything imaginable.

A hard hit with +effect is more creative. Players should feel compelled to avoid hits not just for the extreme outcome of 100 to 0 as ‘content status quo’.
eg. Wraiths could deal damage but also debuff players for X seconds to deal 1/2 or % of their damage.

I don’t know.
Some of the complaints are certainly valid, many are kneejerk for sure and those folks have A LOT of learning curve or gear curve to go through(check the profiles in game…eye opening!!).
I have pretty much as much defense as possible, where possible on gear, with all buffs active and CC or whatever applied to reduce X and Y etc and these things just sometimes happen.
It’s weird tbh. I just go “How…? What? Huh…?”
I cannot imagine what others experience with low-mid gear or glass cannon specs.

For example - It would honestly be nice if CC Duration Reduction was just nearly as important as stacking Armor% and DR this&that - not for HARD CC(that’s uncreative 1 shot level stuff but there should be some for sure) - but for soft CC & debuffs.
Maybe it’s not for ARPGs, debuffs and such, and I’m totally clueless. Just tossing out an idea.

Anyway, Black and white game design, 100 to 0 extremes, is just boring to me.
I’ll never ask for nerfs - Just flavor and creativity and balance.
It’s nice knowing what to expect and being able to prepare for it - THEN, after the effort and grind to prepare, it becomes a skill check and the proverbial ‘git gud’ applies.

Still enjoying AoZ though  .
Hope you’re enjoying it and making good progress!
