It looks like the graphic around the edges of the screen are kinda blurry or something. I tried different option but cannot seem to remove this effect?
It gives a really annoying feeling

funniest part is that it overlaps the characters face on the select screen.
I canāt seem to replicate this.
Mine looks fine, zoomed out or zoomed in. Now there are perspective blurs behind the character. I have wings equipped and when zoomed in they blur behind the character.
But I havenāt seen this effect in game, will have to check next time I play. I just donāt have time at the moment. But there are perspective blurs when zoomed in that may present.
Yep I am not the only one that is noticing this:
[This visual blur effect is distracting and causing eye strain]
If you walk to the stuff you notice having this to more to the middle the objects get crispy clear again. And then walk away to place it to the edge poef there is the blur effect.
This effect wasnāt there before the expansion.
Have any of you actually looked to see if there is a perspective option and whether thereās a blurring feature? As I said Iām not back where I can check this at the moment.
Okay.
After looking at it once I got back home:
Yes its blurring around the edges, but I canāt honestly remember if it was doing it before. It certainly doesnāt bother me personally, and till now I didnāt even see it.
But not sure if its intended or not.
I looked over the settings, only two things could affect it that I know of. One is view distance, though it didnāt seem to do anything, the other setting is Distortion. But that seemed to make it more grainy? than anything. It didnāt remove the blur but it lessened it⦠somewhat.
*shrug
No idea. Not a problem for me, but Iām sure it will bug the hell out of some of you.
It looks like there are two creative choices to contend with here.
As you rightly said, Axejess, the blurring towards the edge of screen is way too strong - Iām seeing a triple image in high contrast areas that doesnāt look good.
For me, the depth-of-field blurring on the Character and Wardrobe screens is more of a problem. Itās really bad on the Wardrobe screen - only a tiny amount of the character is ever āin focusā.
just replying here to say this bothers me as well and would like an option to turn off this blur.
spent way too long trying to configure settings to get rid of it since something felt off.
I even spent time looking through the LocalPrefs file looking for something that may relate to it, and nadda. Or at least nothing that stood out to me that may help.
But I only looked to see if it would help some of you. Myself, it doesnāt bother me. I asked my dad about his experience with the game today when I was visiting. He said it hasnāt been crashing and he never really noticed the blur either, and looking at it, he was like its no big deal for him anyway.
He plays on an HP Omen, with a 9th (or 10th) gen i7 and an RTX 2060 as a laptop. He lives a short way down the road from my place, and actually shares my internet connection, so he plays over the Starlink that I have. (we have an outside of the norm network here)
The blurring at the sides of my screen (especially on ultrawide) is really noticeable, and makes my eyes/head hurt after a while.
Blizzard please fix this blur itās very distracting and uncomfortable to look at. Should probably go under the existing āDistractionsā in Graphics settings.
ALT+F4 and blur is gone!
(donāt try this at home)
Actually was on my dadās laptop last night going over some game thingsā¦
His was⦠Really badly blurred at the character select menu. Like⦠Awful. In game it wasnāt so bad, but wow.
If its like that for some in-game too, I can see why they would be having issues.
Here is a question:
What resolution are those of you seeing the blurring running at?
Mine is at 1440p, with high res packs and max quality settings, its barely noticeable. What resolution, are you using res packs and what quality levels are you running? Just curious.
Disable resolution scaling/DLSS
Someone at Blizz threw on an aberration screen effect which blurs edges. I get made dizzy when messing around in the wardrobe now⦠They REALLY need an option to disable this!
Iām on a 42" 4K screen and itās insanely bad. To the point where my eyes feel cross eyed just looking at it for a few seconds.
Try disabling DLSS/FSR/Resolution Scaling
resolution scaling would make the entire screen blurry, not just the outer edges.
The effect people are seeing is called Chromatic Aberration. Its an awful effect that is supposed to mimic super old cameraās. Why it was added to D4 (or any game for that matter) is just one more unexplained blunder of the world.
I guess for me, its not really a problem. I barely notice it, but then Iām only running a standard aspect 32" curved screen with HDR.
I would suspect an ultrawide format would look a lot more horrible on the left and right sides.
idk man. I had this exact issue and it was resolved by disabling DLSS
