Hey,
Anyone here using rend build ? I dont really know if tempering system brings somethin new for those bleeding builds…
I’m looking for a rend (with or without rupture) that would be safe enough to run lvl50-60ish pits, since i’m HC only.
I’ve played almost all barb builds except bleed ones, and since my lvl100 HC toon just died, it may be the time to try somethin’ else before going another class.
Thanks
I play the Rend/Rapture/Gushing Wounds build (my own version, won’t find a guide for it per say but you can just experiment to find the exact style that fits you) and from a DPS point of view, yeah I can do pit 76 comfortably at a reasonable speed.
The way I play it is not exactly HC safe, but then I did not focus on that.
My playstyle is to jump/walk into a big pile of mobs, Rend the Elites so their entire health bar is fully bleeded up in 2-3 hits and then rapture them all or just run away to the next pack since they will bleed out and die anyway. At least that’s the tactic for the pit I use. It’s a pretty fun, hit & run and profit
Boss fights are a bit slower though but when I started using Flay (instead of Lunging Strike) that seems to work a bit faster.
Anyway, have fun with the “pure” bleed build, I enjoy this off meta build every season since the game went live
Oh… and for tempering, I like the Rend Size, it means I can apply bleed to bigger packs at once and that reduces my time standing in the middle of them all dramatically.
Flay is way better because of the tempers, but rend can be decent and get you well past 50-60. Since you can’t get good tempers the best way to scale it is to run dual wield with a Ramaladni’s and use a grandfather if you can get one.
I have tried full brawler with kick-charge-leap with cota and ancestral echoes for charge and leap, however, it has not gone well.
Now I’m trying leapquake with accent on bleed with ring of the ravenous , also I’m using rupture. Potential of 80+ pit tiers.
EDIT
yes, gushing wounds and crit chance/damage
It is important to bring up that a “Pure Bleed Build” using Gushing Wounds is only really viable with 75%+ Crit Chance, 5,000+ Crit Damage, and Grandfather.
In my experience, a Rend/Walking Arsenal build using Rend and Ring of the Ravenous works best until then. You will be disappointed however in that Rupture HEALS enemies frequently. Rob even complains about this on his video and has been posted since the game went Live.
It is an enormous waste, but you really need a Max Wanton Rupture on a 2H so your Bleeds will not heal as often. If the Bleed + Rupture will kill an enemy, Rupture will not heal. If Wanton Rupture prevents Rupture from removing the Bleed, Rupture will not heal. If you do not have Wanton Rupture and the Rupture is not enough to kill an enemy, it will almost always heal it.
This is the single most frustrating thing to have to deal with since the Attack Speed modifier is very good for Rend and Flay.
You can work around this with Skullbreaker on a 2H, Anemia, Ground Stomp, CoTA, Concussion, using Ramas with a 1H Mace for Concussion. High Stun and Bleed will give you a similar damage output as Rupture without Charges or the heal mechanism. Not many people have played around with this build, but it is solid. Mixes DD and Bleed.
Sorry but this is extremely wrong. You need high crit chance for bleed build, but stacking crit damage like is seen in some recent videos is a terrible way to scale bleeds. Gushing wounds is absolutely busted this season, but it’s a separate multiplier and you need lots of additive damage to scale alongside it. Vulnerable damage is best.
I’ve been playing flay build all season and rupture doesn’t heal enemies anymore, it works great. Also, Wanton Rupture is not a waste lol, it’s your highest damage aspect for single target. It’s over a 100% damage increase for flay.
Like I said, unless you have a GF, you won’t be stacking Crit Damage or Crit Chance nor will you be taking Gushing Wounds. Gushing Wounds is only worth it if you make those investments into Critical Strike Damage and Critical Strike Chance. Bleeds themselves cannot Critically Strike so that is a lot that you have to overcome.
Nobody is “just taking” Critical Strike Damage with GW. Of course you will take Decimator and Hemmorhage with Exploit if you are going for a pure Bleed Build…
As for Wanton Rupture, it is only worthwhile on a 2H and you are giving up a whole host of other Aspects that could perform better there. Rupture is great, but they need to fix the bug where it heals enemies. It makes playing a Bleed build with it feel bad.
Saying “Rupture does not heal anymore” is categorically false. Nowhere in any patch notes was this addressed and you can pull up multiple recent videos of this happening.
No where in patch notes did they say they fixed gushing wounds scaling either, but they sure did this patch! That’s just blizzard for you. Like I said I’ve played flay build all season and sometimes there is a weird visual thing going on, but the mob is never healed. Me and others are pushing high pits with flay builds (Guy on youtube did 137) Rupture works fine this season.
And yes, there were multiple videos of streamers/players stacking 6k+ crit damage. That is stupid and results in less overall damage. Much better to have like 1k vuln damage and 1k crit damage. On a flay build you don’t even want to use grandfather btw, it’s a damage loss! You’d use it for rend if not using flay just because there is no good tempers for rend.
And Wanton Rupture is over 100% damage increase… please tell me which aspect is even close to that damage that you’re giving up?
You are talking for a singular perspective for one of your Flay build. Rupture absolutely is still bugged and it isn’t just a visual glitch. I explained when it occurs even when using Rupture.
Nowhere did I say that Rupture is not good just that some people are not going to like the bug. I also did not say Wanton Rupture isn’t any good. I said you have to put it on your 2H otherwise it only works every what like 30 seconds? You have to consider what you are losing by putting that on your 2H for something only affecting a single Skill.
Yep, that is what I found out as well, once I add enough Vulnerable into the build (to counterbalance the crit chance/dmg) the Rend bleeds are just insanely big (for my needs). I’m sure others can min/max this even more
hello im looking for a bleed build team for pits testing. please add me DemonLeftArm#1675
