I am not certain exactly when this changed, but has anyone else noticed the nerf to Hydra? When you would cast Hydra prior to this change, Hydra would attack immediately. Now when casting Hydra there is a delay before Hydra attacks. The result is that before if you spam cast Hydra you were constantly refreshing the attack. Now if you spam cast Hydra, Hydra won’t attack.
It was changed like a couple seasons ago or something, when Hydra fell off a cliff. I played it for the season it was amazing, pre-Andy’s nerf, one of the most fun builds ever imo. Then of course they destroyed it.
Yeah you can just use the “add 1 hydra” legendary aspect to help alleviate the issue a little. You wont need to spam hydras if they stay out longer…
Also if you want a couple more extra hydras on board (total of 5 max)… then use the hydra enchantment… however this is only viable if you spam mana.
For ex… chain lightning and the axial pants that make you run theough mana like crazy…
Or
Im using Ball Lightning spam where it spawns 2 sparks… and then have the passive where you regain mana on spark pickup…
But by spamming mana you will be spawning extra free hydras on board…
Lightning Spear enchantment also benifits from this…
i use both and i also rock all congerations.

I don’t have any issues clearing content, I start every season with Hydra sorc and this is the first season I have noticed the delay of the heads attacking and it was actually after the 4/29 patch. Although if Hydra is going to cool down instead of mana cost in S9 that will be a little bit of an adjustment.
There is no such in the patch notes. Also Serpentine aspect will drain all your mana for a damage buff, that is why they removed mana cost. They are not going to give Hydra a CD on top that.
