Anyone finding any heads?

I’m about tired of farming this witch / headrot areas. I’ve spent at least 15 hours in T1 and at least 6 or 7 of those hours in those areas and haven’t seen a single head.

Is this blizzard’s normal BS or what?

Edit: ok from the replies it seems this is blizzard bs again D4 bad level crap. There is no reason to use a retention drop rates. So basically season is over for me. Journey and track are done so unless they quickly patch in higher rates for t1, see you all next season

the drop rate is bigger on higher world tiers.

if i was you id focus getting there first, to ease up the grind.

they are “rare” but you see them regularly in t4.

Highest chance for a head boss to spawn is on T4, even then it low like around 5-10%. Same with the witch alter spawning in dungeons/pits.

Oh darn, that’s ridiculous. Why don’t they make it 50%?…

They need a way to keep the season to last for a while. Even though it being this low dose kind of sucks. However, as to how often the cocoon spawns, it makes sense why they did it. Even though I know a lot of people prefer faster/higher results.

The only one that I personally had a problem with was the altar showing up in dungeons, as that one isn’t as quick or often as the cocoons. It took me like 200 mixed pit/NMD/season dungeons to get 5 alters to unlock the tornado.

Get to T4 and make sure you’re using the elixir. I have a feeling the elixir buff only applies to the player that clicks the cocoons, so I’m betting many on T1 aren’t using the elixir, clicking the cocoons, and then spawn rates are non-existent.

On T4, I must have found 12+ heads. I have 2 legendary occult gems, 1 blue one, and I think I have several heads in my inventory. The gem fragments and rot (rot feels fine though) are now my bottlenecks.

It’s also possible finishing the seasonal questline is a pre-requisite, but not 100% sure.

Ive been on T4 for a while and Ive only seen 3 heads drop. The drop rate is horrible, so yes, its the normal blizzard bs. Heads dont drop and the Altars dont spawn, which are key seasonal items that gate progress. I will get my toon to a certain point and if I still dont see heads drop or altars spawn…I’m out until next season unless they patch/fix the drop/spawn rate.

I “quickly” (1 day from 09:00 - 01:00 ) got like 20 heads from t3 events. Unbuffed.

I found 1. I really don’t know what to do with it, so I’m just holding on to it…

You can use them to craft the new “occult gems” to socket into your gear.

1 occult gem gives you:

  • 160 armor
  • +8 res to all
  • useful gimmicks like being unhinderd all the time, 8% core stats and 10% more life

aaaand to craft them you need a few diamonds

That sounds like my ex sending me on a bunch of errands for her… ugh… :unamused:

have you thought of why they are rare? maybe because of making that needed gem for your build is the only one you may need to use. If a fugitive head dropped all the time the tree of whisper story will not make sense it is like making a Xmas tree with ornaments if you find them all the time. so of course it will have a low drop rate.

Which wouldn’t be bad if you didn’t have to wait 5 minutes for it to spawn after clicking it.

Use a draught of whispers elixer, make the big orange thing on the map spawn, kill the boss of it and ever now and then it’s a fugitive head instead of an enraged husk and it drops a head.

Not sooo rare. Keep up farming :woman_farmer: :man_farmer:

T1 is really pointless, even get buffed by the naught elixir, the chances are still too low.

Have played a bit but only just hit T3, have 7 heads.

Seasonal dungeons with the slicers seem to be the way to go.

As for retention drop rates, I mean if we all got 20 in the first day we’d then be complaining about gem fragments or there being nothing to grind for… so pretty happy to not have all the ones I need just yet.
