Anyone else "stuck" leveling?

I really WANTED to get into the season, but for one reason or the other I can’t get myself to play. Comparing this to older Diablo titles this isn’t “grinding the game through in one or two days” anymore, it feels more like a several week long endeavor.

I don’t think I hit level 30 even and when I think about playing I just lack the incentive.

“The forums say” it feels like a job, it takes too long to level or before we could rush each other. However, the problem I see is that “it’s just not fun”. Like… WHAT do we level for? WHAT is the “end goal”? The end game is bland, leveling is tedious and “the magic” is just missing.

I really don’t want to start yet another “everything meh” thread, but actually feeling like I’m completely “stuck” not wanting to play a new Diablo game anymore despite having a season, despite having a char I am super interested in to try out and play (druid) that I haven’t tried before I just… dread the idea of playing?

I’m still grinding my OW2 battlepass everyday and despite the game literally dying, people becoming more and more toxic on a “throwaway account because f2p” limitless level, PvE having been canceled and OWL being on the edge of ending forever plus NO interesting new content on the horizon (since august “PvE light” is a meme) I STILL look forward to and enjoy my sessions in the game way more than playing Diablo 4.

Is anyone having a similar experience or is it a “me problem”?

Same issue here. I just dont want to play. Feels boring and meaningless. Its a million things that coalesce into a feeling of mediocrity.

I think a big part of it is that you cant give alts items. Remember in d2? Finding an item and being like DAMN!, ill use that on XXXXXX build, and then being excited to start that next character with something to strive for? Or similarly, having a build in mind and farming end game and bosses to get the gear you wanted to try that build, and then finally seeing the few key pieces, being excited, and then going on to your alt to level and play to start equipping those cool items… Or even, having a levelling set of gear you can use to blast early game with… ALLL of that is gone in d4.

I finished unlocking all 90 of the season tier rewards, got the renown leveled up again, completed up to chapter 7 in the season log and leveled to 69. I just don’t have the desire to level to 100. The thought of doing Helltides, PvP, Legion events or NMD over and over like I did on eternal, is just not fun for me. I have enjoyed the game but it needs more, maybe an arena similar to Grim Dawns Crucible?

Yep I feel exactly the same. No dopamine in d4. Everything drops for your own class then suddenly locks that item to your level. It doesn’t feel good.

D2 you can MF on sorc (also another feature d4 is missing) and get drops for ALL the classes and have fun building each character depending on your drops!
Even getting a level 30 bow (kuku shakuku or something) you can build a bow enchant sorc (d4 sorc can’t use bows)

Overall, it feels like they went backwards or just don’t like fun in D4.

I log in and find myself sitting in town reading these forums instead of playing the game.

I just get bored really fast in this game… really fast

The game is leveling, welcome!

That is so very true. The basic mechanic of “invest time to move to boss and have chance on nice drops” is completely nonexistant in d4. Instead we get mediocre drops on terrible “events” locked behind helltides, repetitive boring content (grinding NMDs) or even worse the “world bosses” on a schedule that makes absolutely no sense and doesn’t fit the franchise.
On paper everything is more advanced, newer and has the potential to offer more and diverse “fun” but they managed to tune it to be the opposite.

Yup, I 100% agree.

I feel that so much. On D2 I could start any time and would have to hold back because it’s such a timesink with actually very limited content and maps. D4 is the polar opposite: huge world, monsters, possibilities but it’s just gruesome to think about playing it. :frowning:

One thing that is killing my drive is how hard it is to swap builds. I am playing rogue and it has a solid 7-8 end game builds.

However I literally have to grind like 4-5 days just to get enough gold and resources to swap over. Ive been working on a Rapid Fire + Rain of Arrows build for literally a week now.

It kills my drive big time. “Play your own way”… “I can’t mfers it costs like 200 million gold”

Surprisingly diablo 3 was more fun, both leveling and end game.

True and I could literally change my builds faster than my underwear in that game. Didn’t take a week.

The journey is fun in D1 and D2, or was in their heyday. This was barely fun the first time due to lack of interesting loot and surprises.

I already did the big grind. They completely missed the mark on seasonal content. You need to be able to explore 85-90% of the seasonal content in a few hours a week over 2 to 4 weeks tops.

Nobody (sane) wants to do the boring crap this game offers more than a couple of times, they want to hop in, check the gimmick and move on. Now if this game actually had a fun journey through the leveling process that didn’t feel like a chore, that’d be different. Once keveling becomes the point of playing, there is no point of playing.

Is it actually your way, or some streamers “uber” build you want to copy and paste?

I had an akward 3 levels between 63-66 that WT3 to WT4 tansition is unfriendly lol

Set aside those 3 levels on a druid the leveling journy feels good.

Leveling was so horrible right now after they remove scaling and nerf XP.

I dont understand who the hell wants this monster scaling to be removed.
The problem is not the scaling,
The monster should have scaled to your level to prevent XP penalty!
Since scaling is removed, what we got is penalty.
The solution should have been that monster leveling up power should be curved diminishedly and the player power should scale exponentially.
That should have been the solution.
I think that Blizzard currently is on a huge meltdown. And dont know what the hell they are doing.
One of the proof of that is that the Season Vendor sales increase also increase your cost on everything now.
They are kinda like in meltdown state fixing this bump there, fixing there bump this, fixing here bump hard others there.

Killing monsters in the world and questing for renown is now useless as hell.
During launch things wasnt this bad. Now its crazy hard.
I think you can only leveling on Nightmare dungeon now.

Considering I am building something that is so bad it isn’t on a teir list. Clearly you caught me.

Go look up Rapid Fire + Rain of Arrows. The build would be considered D tier if it was even ranked, but it isn’t because its trash lol

I guess you think it should cost 200-500 million gold to switch specs?

I agree, seems like after a while your interest in the game fails. I love Blizzard games but, you’re correct, D3 was more interesting. I have a serious problem with a save point. Seems like you have continue playing even when you need to log. So many things are well done, while other issues with the mechanics are overlooked completely.

I think I’d rather work than play this boring game anymore.
I have to force myself so much as to eat something that smells and tastes very bad.
I paid for Ultimate so I will get to that level 100 to unlock battlepass.

Yes I went to level 62 on barb, finished renown and thinking ahead not seeing fun coming into the picture.
