Anyone else saddened by the situation Diablo is in right now?

First of I have been a fan of the series since D1. I find it very saddening to see the situation Diablo is in right now. Many have seen what is coming in very soon in Dec. and what has Blizzard done to counter it? Very little if anything. The base game was rushed out and we all know it was no where near ready for release. They took out a huge amount of QOL(mercs, pets, armory, ect) from the game only to trickle it to us later as “Content” and expect us to be grateful for it. The last campfire was not a surprise and was very meh. This company was great once and the games were even greater. I truly wish they would get back to being that company but I just don’t see it happening. All I know is recent announcements hopefully lit a fire under their butts because they now clearly see how far behind they really are.

I dont think saddened is the word. Mystified as to their current game breaking bug allowing exploit permitting interest lacking stance in diablo iv compared to the past. I remember blizzard shutting the D2 servers down in the middle of 9.0.01a because of a monster strength glitch that was killing everyone.

The Devs used to care about the game quality foremost and protect the players experience above anything. That is non existent this season.

Almost everyone from original Blizzard quit the company a long time ago.

The timing of POE2’s release and the fact Diablo 4 is going to be like green moldy bread by December 6th is a problem. I don’t care if Path of Exile is better. I want Diablo to win. They didn’t even buff every build enough to max their glyphs in the mid season patch. Which shows how little they even know their own game.

Endgame at the moment is boring grind from 270-300 paragon. If reviews started coming out and saying Path of Exile 2 is a 12/10 game I still wouldn’t play it.

I’d be huddled in a corner quivering whispering to myself “Diablo 4…Diablo 4…stay a while and listen!..You have quite the treasure there in that Horadric cube!..”

Win Blizzard. For your players.

Now this is the kind of dedication we need. Don’t worry everyone d5 will bring diablo back to the top.

Agreed, this franchise has lost most of what made it special in the beginning. Now its just an arcade game with a bunch of monsters popping up out of thin air literally. I have very little hope that it will return to its roots and become great again.

I would agree. Just seems like there isnt the same passion anymore.

Blizzard has the same problem as many big companies, DEI.

Has anyone seen the latest Jaguar ad?

Disappointed is a better word.

I didnt start the game with the level of cynicism I have now, but after everything that was D3- i remained somewhat reserved on my hype. Still, I was VERY excited for this game. I thought blizzard maybe learned from some of its D3 mistakes - but it quickly became apparent , they were not taking any lessons from the past.

Ive grown more cynical, and bitter about this game after every subsequent campfire , patch, and update where they seemingly run over their own feet every single time .

The body rots from the head. The heads of Blizzard-Activision only care about money. That message eventually transmits down to the bottom as those who disagree are fired or let go. That’s what happened to the D3 team. Before them, Blizzard North.

Very disappointed, the project diablo 2 mod has a more entertaining system.

Their patch notes were also longer…

That game also has more end game content then this game with a full AAA dev team.

Yep, very disappointed, even more when I compare D4 with other “AAA” titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and others. There’s such an abyss between them, I just cannot explain D4’s current state. It looks like it was done by amateurs compared to Cyberpunk 2077. I know Cyberpunk 2077 had a difficult start, but in one year their dev team made a miracle. D4, almost two years later, is worse—full of bugs and crashes, and it feels like an unfinished game. Soon it’s Season 7…

As someone who has played Diablo 1, 2, 3, and 4, this season has left me disheartened on so many levels. The refusal to address exploits and duping properly, while simultaneously removing the bugged potion that actually made other classes more fun to play, feels incredibly hypocritical. It seems clear that one year is not enough time to create a high-quality expansion. I would much prefer they introduce new or returning classes annually and release an expansion every two years if this is the level of quality we’re getting.

I feel the same exact way good sir.

Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 remain two of my favorite games in recent years. Cyberpunk was the game that got me back into PC and console gaming—I originally got it on Stadia, and being able to play it anywhere blew my mind. Sure, the launch was buggy, but honestly, people had fun messing around with all the glitches. It’s a single-player game, so who cares, right? :joy: Then, the expansion came which pushed the game to the MOON! This year, I finally played The Witcher 3 along with its two expansions, and wow—now I understand why it’s been re-released so many times.

Witcher 3 was/is one of the best game ever produced since Half - Life 1.

And I really don’t mind the pay-to-romance expansions.

Indeed The Witcher III was amazing!
Elden Ring is even better though.
And Bloodborne is the best there ever was.
