After spending $90 CDN I can honestly say this is very disappointing so far. Gameplay feels very sluggish, graphics are far from AAA title worthy, stuttering, and just overall lackluster experience. I found the intro to be very slow and kinda boring. Sad face ![]()
I had more dialogue and chattering than actual killing that I started skipping everything. Every time an npc is introduced “I just say bla bla bla and skip” until I can actually hit something.
For me the gameplay really picked up once i hit the 4th tier of skills and had a full bar with nice mix of spenders and cooldowns
id love to comment more but cant play the freakin game
No, the only disappointment are the servers running on steam. Otherwise I love the game, it does not feel sluggish, even at the start where you lack those abilities that make combat seem slower you still have the dodge which is more than the other diablo games, the graphics are fine, I don’t know what you people expect short of actual reality. But I guess not everyone will be happy with it. I am. So far… minus the severs running like crap.
I really, really like that combat is slower.
However, I sadly expect it to go like previous games, slower pace in the start, and then in endgame it gets absurd all over again.
Might do a refund and just wait till like July or August.
I have spent 4 hours in que.
Played a total of about 40 mins and been kicked or disconnected from Network / server twice.
I have spent more time waiting for this game than actually playing it. Can’t even give proper feedback. What a scam.
Gameplay - P good
Itemization - kinda eh but I’m also pretty early on
Story/Setting - Way better than D3, getting Witcher vibes
Game performance - Poop from a butt. my PC should not be taxed this hard for the graphics level.
Nothing about the gameplay feels sluggish.
Graphics are the best of any modern ARPG.
Stuttering is expected in a beta.
Yes. Performance is awful. returning
This game is so boring.
Fan boys always coming to the rescue lol
First yews it does feel sluggish at least for my barb and very slow paced
Second I dont thin the graphic are all the spectacular esp since the are MANY games with graphics that are just as good if not better esp. since the min. req for this game is a second gen I5 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 280 LMAO
Lastly, when you pay $100 for a game that is set to release in 3 months it should not have anywhere near as many problems as this.
Give your head a shake.
Made it through the queue, didn’t make it through the opening video.
Back in queue.
I’m not enjoying it, to be honest.
The gameplay is boring, the story feels very generic and the NPCs are bland.
That soundtrack is extremely annoying, it has no impact at all; The other games all have iconic tunes, even D3. In fact, DIV soundtrack sounds a lot like the unimaginative DIII act V, just a mish-mash of neo-classical music made by an AI.
There’s also the subject of the stuttering. My PC far exceeds the recommended specs, but I had to switch the game to medium to reduce the stuttering.
Well, I still have hope it will get better with time.
It’s underwhelming for sure. I don’t care about the issues as it’s a beta after all. I’m more concerned about the game trying to be a mmo. I keep getting these bad asian f2p vibes every time I see a player outside the city. It’s probably the most concerning thing about this game for now. Hopefully I am wrong and it won’t turn into some daily chore game at launch. I want to play diablo, not some weird hybrid mmo approach.
Not really. The reintroduction of the quay threw me off (I completely forgot this happened with WOW), I think this weekend’s access could have been limited to those who actually bought the game early, but overall, as someone else commented, I work with a 4K monitor and they outdid themselves with the cinema segments. I like the addition of the customizable character. From what I’ve been able to play, there are numerous off-quests and other fun crawlers (or as we call 'em, dungeon crawlers), even managed to start picking up rare items.
Every Beta day 1 has some kind of fiasco (trust those of us who were around since D1 and the original WOW). I’m far from disappointed. However, given the early access was scheduled from the 17th to 20th, and given I think too many people were given access, it would be in the developer’s best interests to extend the early access and reschedule the open beta for later.
I’m having fun with it, but I feel like its basically Diablo 3 DLC and not a new game. Looking back to Diablo 1 to Diablo 2, there was a massive change in the gameplay and graphics. Then D2 to D3, again, massive change. Granted, I only got to level 4 before being DC’d and now waiting in an 85 minute queue to get back on, maybe the game opens up a lot more?
I would recommend allowing players to play a non-online version of the game - even if the characters cannot be ported to a multiplayer realm of the game - some of us just want to experience the story and play it instead of engage with others. Maybe my internet is out, or i’m on a plane or a train, or a bus. Unless of course end game mechanics call for multiple players - then obviously need to do something about queues.
It’s just not that fun, the mmo elements like random events just don’t fit at all it plays EXACTLY like D3 and honestly the setting feels more like The Witcher or something to me than Diablo just not feeling it at all regret pre-ordering tbh.
I really enjoyed the intro, the graphics look incredible to me, i like the slower pace at the start, im super interested in the story and for me its feels very well delivered.
Dont forget you dont start out as flash Gordan murder machine in Arpgs.
This is what gets me too, these mmo elements. If I wanted to play a mmo I’d play wow(which sadly I am actually doing). It really rubs me the wrong way.
The MMO elements just feel like a desperate attempt to compete with PoE honestly but no clue why a PoE fan would play a pseudo-MMO like D4 instead a proper one like PoE is especially with it playing just like D3 and all on top of it.
