I was honestly pretty angry when I just logged on for the first time since in 2.5 years. since pre-release.
Instead of paying for the 60? or maybe 70$ version. I paid for the bigger version like other games to save money on the game and not need to purchase DLC’s in the future?
Boy was I wrong. now I’ve paid like 103-104$ with tax. and they want me to drop another 30$ to play the game.
I’m convinced blizzard doesn’t want people too play the game anymore.
Why would I spend more money for a game. That is currently cheaper than what I have already paid by 30$
they literally want me to pay double the price new customers are paying.
No. I paid the $100 (2 times), knowing it wouldn’t come with DLC’s.
To preempt the trolls: yes, technically it’s your fault for not reading what it includes, but… I feel ya. The game was/is marketed to non-arpg players & also ultra-casuals, who might make the mistake of transplanting other franchises’ approach to DLC’s (think “season pass”) to this one.
Sorry bud.
PS. I don’t own the expansion either, but season 7 looks to be slightly less restrictive than S6 was. There’s that.
There are (to my knowledge) 2 ‘endgame’ activities that are locked out… but they don’t much matter for progression. Nightmare dungeons & the Pit are still the main endgame systems, plus Infernal Hordes… and those aren’t locked.
Also, the campaign part is, by most accounts, boring and/or ridiculous… you might want to just watch a video (that was enough for me).
What you’re really missing-missing is the 6th class (Spiritborn), the Mercenary companions, and Runes. If you’re to be peeved about anything, it’s those 3 imo.
I personally dont have an issue with that, but i can understand that people are put off by it. its for sure a different kind of diablo story telling, thats for sure.
in my universe i think its great we dont just slaughter off a prime evil in the classic diablo manner. Leaves room for much more story.
Anyone with functional brain cells knows modern games will always have DLC and expansions if the game is successful at all. But I suspect this just another troll thread.
Notice since I already gently scolded you for not reading the contents before purchasing, when the troll did show up, they had to resort to poseur-snark about a future purchase decision that you haven’t actually declared.
My original assumption was that 1 expansion would be made for the game. I based this off their previous iterations of the games. Then in an interview before the game launched we were told about yearly expansions.
Now this original idea may have changed, but we knew we were getting at least one expansion, and it was already in the works before the base game launched. Regardless, I knew exactly what I was buying when I purchased the base game, and expansions would cost additional money.
This is typically how most games operate. Now there are some games that offer a ‘Seasonal Pass’ that might include additional DLC, but to my knowledge, no Blizzard game has ever done this. Also it depends on the game, very few actually offer this option in the grand scheme of things.
Doesn’t mean they won’t offer a bundle price for previous expansions or DLC, but very few offer this price upfront for an expansion of DLC that has yet to release. Blizzard obviously offers bundle prices for pre-orders of the expansion, but you can’t buy it well in advance, as in buying the base game when it originally launched and paying even more money for an expansion that has yet to be announced.
I’m assuming you must be new to Blizzard games in general, or just how certain companies operate in regards to selling expansions to their games. On the bright side at least you know moving forward, and can make an educated decision when this pops up again for you. Whether it’s for a Blizzard game or any other game. Good luck to you out there.
If you mean a thread that attracts trolls like you, sure - but that’s basically any thread on any topic.
The OP is clearly just confused about what was included in the original price, and dismayed at the loss of savings when compared to recent discounts. It’s clearly not a troll post. But yours is, which means you don’t feel any responsibility for understanding what you’re replying to, or the feelings of strangers on the Internet who might not deserve your bile.
Lesson learned: don’t make assumptions about what you’re getting for your money. Every version of the game told you exactly what you would get for the price. Mind the details, bud.
Ill be the first to admit this is 100% my fault. Doesn’t suck any less.
I feel like blizzard is that Cable guy in south park rubbing his nipples
“ooooooo you paid 100$ for half the game, man should of read the fine print” then laughs at me and counts his money.
soooo. ugh… you gonna send me that 30$. or lose out on all your 100$??? HMMM WHAT YOU GONNA DO. CHECKMATE
your comparison has an error tho, you dont lose anything. you still have exactly what you paid for. you can also play s7 with just owning the base game.
just because elden ring released a dlc, i didnt lose what i previously purchased. I mean, its really just how games are sold.
