Anyone else having a miserable time on T2?

I’m level 48 pretty close to 49. Attack power 998, Armor 2815, and Life 1330 and I also have 9 potions. I also have all legendaries, but only some that synergize with the skill Pulverize so it’s my main attack. I mostly have to stay ranged because I die in about 2 hits from Elites. It’s impossible for me to take down stronghold bosses because I run out of potions.

The first elite in the capstone dungeon takes me out in about 2 or 3 hits. I don’t understand why I’m so squishy. My friend who is a rogue who is close to the same stats as me said he is having no issues at all.

I’m not having any issues even on T3. Infact I’m so tanky unless I’m intentionally AFK and not using abilities, I can’t die because of fortify.

I’d have a look at this guys build, it’s very similar to mine. I use Earthern Bulwak with the legendary that extends it’s duration on my leg slot over Blood Howl.

Not me, i actually changed to tier 2 around lvl 25 because it was too easy.
You must be lacking defensive nodes on the tree and/or useful defensive aspects, like damage reduction when using basic skill etc. I dont know if you are using it, but Storm Strike basic skill has 25% dmg reduction built in and 50% Vuln chance, making it a must have skill

I suggest you to look into skill tree if everything is in order there, if you cant facetank Elites, then theres something really wrong with your build

There’s a handful that do.

As someone else stated, you likely are lacking defensive nodes or just not moving out of mechanics.

Here is my build that I put together on my own, but I’m sure other people have used it before:

Legendaries:
Aspect of Quicksand: Damage from Earth Skills Slow enemies hit by xx% for xx seconds.
Aspect of Retaliation: Your Core Skills deal up to xx%x|] increased damage based on your amount of Fortify.
Aspect of the Trampled Earth: Trample now summons xx Landslide pillars of earth during its duration that deal xx% normal damage. Trample is now also a Nature Magic and Earth Skill.
Aspect of the Ursine Horror: Pulverize is now also an Earth Skill. After casting Pulverize, tectonic spikes continue to deal xx damage over xx seconds.
Ballistic Aspect: When you have Fortify your Earth Skills gain +xx Ranks.

Talents:
Maul (1/5) > Enhanced Maul > Fierce Maul
Pulverize (5/5) > Enhanced Pulverize > Primal Pulverize
Heart of the Wild (1/3) > Abundance (3/3)
Predatory Instinct (3/3) > Iron Fur (3/3)
Debilitating Roar (4/5) > Enhanced Debilitating Roar > Preserving Debilitating Roar
Ancestral Fortitude (3/3) > Vigilance (3/3)
Poison Creeper (1/5)
Trample (5/5) > Enhanced Trample > Savage Trample
Crushing Earth (3/3) > Stone Guard (3/3)
Grizzly Rage > Prime Grizzly Rage > Supreme Grizzly Rage
Ursine Strength

Boons:
Stag: Gift of the Stag (+10 maximum spirit)
Raven: Scythe Talons (+5% Crit chance) + Swooping Attacks (+5% Attack speed)
Snake: Obsidian Slam (10th kill causes next Earth Skill to Overpower)
Wolf: Bolster (Fortify for 10%)

As you can see my build synergizes with Extra Damage with Earth abilities while using Shapeshifting that is calculated as Earth.

Ok thanks, I will try that out.

Oh and I have been using 1 handed weapon + totem. 2 handers, to me, just feel too slow and clunky with the Spirit Generation.

T2 “feels bad man” comes down to many things.

  • Level scaling and gear

If you cant keep your gear up to date, you will start to fall behind the enemies you once dominated earlier on

  • Lack of legendaries.

This alone seems to make or break druid even without considering all of druids other issues

  • Too many poor build options.

Right now there are some abilities that work well, and many others that simply dont. Using abilities that are proven to be inferior will result in much more of a struggle.

  • Leveling too fast

This can actually hurt you especially if you find yourself in the 20s or 30s without having yet unlocked your boons. Boons are pretty meh, but even the small bonuses from them can help. If enemies are scaling up with you, you need all of your tools under your belt.

That’s it. All of the little things make the grind more bear-able (pun intended) while you collect the things that can better define your build. The grind is infinite so best enjoy the ride, it’s a little slow to start but that often makes the end more satisfying.

Earthen Bulwark is one of the best defensive I have seen on this game so far. And with the legendary that extends its duration it is really just top tier.

Agreed, I get a 20% free auto casting of it from the blood howl. (I’ve gone a weird direction).
The free cast gets the legendary items +6 seconds too, which is bonus.

Been considering swapping over to it for the guaranteed 9 seconds of not getting nuked

It’s because the Druid is undertuned compared to other classes. If you snag the right gear and slot the right aspects, he can turn into a beast. But, unlike the other classes, if you’re just “winging it,” you’re gonna have a bad time on anything other than T1.

The rest of the folks here give some decent advice. Just look up a generic pulverize build online and do that until Blizzard realizes they screwed up and rolls out an overhaul for the druid.
