Anyone else find the scaling weird for frenzy?

Level 30-40 i did 500-1000 damage per hit in wt1
40-50: 750-1250 usually

50-60: 1-2 k but as it hit 7 stacks (unique) 3-5k in wt3

Now at 68 in wt4 today i hit for 750-1250 again and it feels odd but mobs are 75 and i dont have ancient 1h maces yet but do have one for hota 2h quake

Stun felt more fun today when i focused on it from hota+ frenzy

It just feels weird being up 30 levels in a harder difficulty but doing similar damage with somewhat cool gear for my level

+basic attack is hard to notice at 50-100% making a difference

Most likely all generators have some quirks yet to them.

Maybe basic attacks need an additional perk

frenzy got decimated in the patch. In order to make it somewhat decent for damage it relies on vuln and crit damage. The same char prior to patch and after patch was going from 200k with 300k max hits to 80k - 100k hits. Because the base damage is so low it needs the multiplies but they just aren’t there anymore.

  • Retribution Stun Damage got cut in Half
  • Critical Strike Chance got reduced
  • Vulnerable Damage took a 40% Nerf
  • Hamstring only applies to Healthy enemies so any +Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies means you are only getting the benefit from Slow while they remain Healthy.
  • This also makes the +Damage to Slowed Enemies Affix much less attractive as it really means "+Damage to Slowed and Healthy Enemies. This is of course unless you are taking the Slow from Leap which, let’s face it, who TF does that when you are so amazingly Fury starved you have to take that 40 Fury from Leap.
  • Some Damage Buckets actually got a nerf like +Crowd Controlled because it was a catch all for CC. Why would you ever take Damage to Slowed or Stunned when Damage to Crowd Controlled works for everything and has highest coefficient. Let’s just disregard the Damage Bonus to Conditional forms was not really increases even remotely enough.
  • There were a few “buffs” to Physical Damage, Weapon specific Affixes, and Wrath Glyph (which applies for Frenzy now) that softened the nerf a littttttle bit but I did some testing and tried to Stack Physical Damage, +Damge While Bleeding, 2H Bludgeoning for example and redid my Paragon Board a little bit. IT DOES NOT MATTER. It was VERY hard to fit these in AND still have +Vulnerable, +Core, and +Crit Damage. Survivability is BUSTED now so unfortunately, you end up gimping that or your Fury Gen/Cooldown reduction etc. The damage increase is barely noticeable but the decrease elsewhere IS noticeable. Trying to change out Vuln and or Crit Damage was even worse and an obvious worse path.

So, suck it up. Blizzard broke the game and has no idea what they are doing.

Those things alone absolutely gutted damage.

First, Patch nodes: -50% dmg overall for all classes.

Second, Patch nodes, +7 Level in open world, and mobs get far bigger armor compare to you thx to level difference, pre patch, they were level 70 on wt4.

So you runned in the overall nerf of dmg plus the higher WT4 level scaling of mobs, until you reach level 75

I tried it out for a bit yesterday, after patch, and my ceiling was just under 400k. Prior to the patch, it was just under 800k. Still half-assed and not optimized. It took a big hit regardless. Spec’d back into DS and took about a 60-70% hit to my damage.

Retribution being cut in half and losing 140+% vulnerable really impacted damage overall. For a class that needed the opposite.

Side note: it appears that 2H weapons are getting buffs from all 4 weapons (stat sticks), but while dual wielding, you don’t gain the vulnerable stats from your 2H stat sticks.

Pure madness.

Ds seems broken at 68

I went from 6-10k hits to 1-2k

But hota worked out better for my frenzy mace 1h stuns + fury regen rings to spam hota to help 2h stun

Also need to stack dr and break crowd control gear or u get screwed

Your Frenzy went from 8-10k to 1-2k? That seems very low all around.

My Lunging Strike can still hit from 60-120k+, after the nerfs, with only 1 point in it.

When u have a chance maybe compare frenzy and/or 1h weapons

I have an 810 1h sword (crit, close, str, core) and an 812 1h mace (crit, core, vuln, str).

The Frenzy build I was using was a Walking Arsenal build with 3 Basics using Battle Trance and Fists of Fate. Still plan to optimize and work it out.

I am having better luck with stun today and new ancestral just need better legend aspects eventually on those (just picked up)

Damage scales slow though and only shows 5 stacks not 7 is odd

Barbarian has a unique amulet?? I put in 200+ hours and never seen this Unique amulet before. Granted I never seen Fist of Fate before either.

It only goes up to 5 stacks of Frenzy.

The +4 is to the skill itself, not the number of stacks you get.

The unique lets you have 7 stacks x 8% dr

No. Battle Trance gives +2 stacks, for a total of 5.
