Are there stats showing what % or quantity of Cellars being farmed or explored?
I feel like it’s wasted assets. I played through the entire Season 0, 1, 2, 3; half of 4; and 2 days of 5, and I never do cellars.
If they just reduce the feature by 80%, I bet they can use the assets and space for more creative things above ground.

Enough to do a season journey objective. Or if I need one whisper point. That’s about it.

Same. Sometimes they got 1 butcher or 3 goblins instead of an event, but it is kind of rare…

I don’t do them, they aren’t on my priority of things to do.
I don’t do helltides so can we get rid of that too
i only did celars back in a season (cant remember the number) that loot hadnt been adjusted, so i would always get a guaranteed leg from the chest there. Since it has been patched, i have never gone in any cave.
Only if i decided to do some whispers. Which generally I don’t if it completes it completes just out of luck of me doing stuff in hell tide.
This made me lol more than it should.

When I would run whispers I would do cellars, since there was always at least a chest with some mats and reasonably often an event with a chest with obols, and now and then loot goblins.
Since the obol vendor got nerfed into the ground I stopped even doing non-dungeon whispers because it’s just quicker and the main reason I was doing others was because I would always run into a lot of events in the meantime.
I do whispers even less now because the cache items are usually trash and I can get money faster from hordes, and I don’t really need mats (eternal since launch.)
So if this setup continues I will never do a cellar again except as a diversion during story content.
I think they were a misguided idea. There were equivalents in D3, but they were kind of cool because they had some kind of little story or scene attached to them. Like you go into some cellar on a burnt out farm and find a bunch of bodies and a diary complaining about increased goatmen sightings, or there’d be someone hiding from monsters to rescue, or something. They were fun to explore for exploration’s sake and made the world feel more alive.
The ones in D4 feel like they’re procedurally generated. Just a semi random tile set mated with a semi random event that has no narrative meaning whatsoever. They’re empty and soulless and generally don’t even have any meaningful loot attached so there is no real reason to bother with them.
It feels like someone borrowed the idea from D3 without understanding what made them interesting in the first place. Which, as it turns out, strikes me as a pretty good parable for this entire game - borrowed ideas that were then implemented in ways that indicate a lack of understanding of what made those ideas compelling in the contexts that they originally came from.

I sometimes do them if they give a Whispers point. They take about a minute max.
You ought to check out the expansion’s new map. It has over 50 new cellars

I like them. It’s a quick little side activity. Sometimes they give whisper exp and occasionally you get a rare event (loot goblins, puzzles, etc).
I’m not concerned about efficiency, I just need to enjoy what’s available to me.

I did every cellar on the map back in Season0. After that, never
I made it a personal goal to save all three on the older seasons.
They were so freaking squishy XD
Now it’s only an issue with exploding enemies (imo they shouldn’t even spawn during that event.)
Nope - they are just more loading screens for no reason.
