Any way to remove the Sorcerer necklace with the pentagram?

He never claimed victory, he CONCEDED the point…

Nice, yes. Totes agree.

Practical? No.

Going to happen? I predict with a strong certainty that this feature will not be implemented ever.

It does not. I’m not too happy about not being able to remove it but this is a game with hell and demons.

And ironically I’m a fan of what inspired that quest, if you are not aware of what it is, it’s an homage to Hellraiser.

I don’t think it is their symbol, them being the Prime Evils or anything from the Burning Hells.

I think, via research and discussion on this thread, that the pentagram is a magical symbol invented by the first sorcerers to summon “spirits”. The spirits ended up being demons though.

It is not a symbol that technically represents evil in and of itself within the lore, as far as I can tell but I am willing to listen to evidence based opinions to the contrary. It is a magical rune that can summon (demons). Perhaps, unexplored in lore yet or missed by me, that a pentagram with different runes can summon angelic spirits?

I know the Amazon summons a Valkyrie that seems rather Holy based.

I found a little something interesting about D3 and WoW regarding this topic on the diablowiki when I searched “pentagrams”

Can’t post the link.

The gist of it, holy symbols where retconned in D3 and WoW about a decade ago. This is nn stark contrast to D1 and D2 and early WoW that was filled with it. I wonder if it had anything to do with the quran controversy?

I wonder what changed from D3 to D4? Judging from the rogue trailer, time stamp 3:35 to 3:48, they have absolutely NO such compulsion to leave out visual imagery significantly similar to modern religions any more.

Whether or not you play a mythical half demon/half angel in the Diablo IV story is pretty irrelevant because it has no meaning in our world. There’s angels and demons in many religions and many fantasy settings that it’s obviously not directed as a critique or slight against Christianity. Forcing a character to wear the symbol of the church of satan is though and more so because it doesn’t even make lore sense. The point is that the upside-down pentagram is and has been for centuries an antichristian symbol in the real world and there isn’t a good explanation for using this symbol nore for the sorceror actually wearing it. If it were simply in the game and a symbol of hell, as it has been in all past games, it wouldn’t matter but the fact that the sorceror (and the player by extension) is now forced to be branded with it is something entirely different.

As for the lore consistency, why would someone who is “half demon” and “half angel” but is fighting against the demons choose to wear the symbol of the demons, this is not even an adequate lore explanation. Why are they not wearing the symbol of angels? Why not wear the symbol of the mage order they serve?

There was never any partricular distinction of the orientation of the pentagram until the mid 19th century where some pompus french guy just decided that its evil if pointed down. This has since been reinforced by pop culture depictions and hysteria ever since, nothing more.

In more recent times, 1966 to be precise, the Church of Satan began using it to represent earthly principles. Let us remind everyone, members of this church do not believe that Satan actually exists and do not worship him. They are in fact “skeptical atheists”.

So everyone up in arms over the upside down pentagram is basing this all off of a crazy french guy in the 1850’s, depictions in movies, and a false belief in how the Church of Satan operates.

Perhaps its time to modernize everyone’s thoughts on this? Education can go a long way.

Well, think of it as a civil war. Demons trying to kill other demons. In a sense, that’s what’s happening.

You actually believe the church of satan does not believe satan exists?

The great deceiver, and his worshippers, are of course going by to say such a bald face lie because he knows it will be regurgitated by others.

The worst liars get others to do it for them.

Okay… well you believe your fantasy tales of make believe and wonder, while I stick with history, facts, and science.

Let’s take your logic and apply it to a similar symbol. The swastika was an ancient symbol used in many cultures but it didn’t have the negativity surrounding it that it does today until a former Austrian painter used it as a symbol in his political movement. I guess it would be ok for the Barbarian to be wearing a swastika necklace then?

The media would go crazy. Would you still be saying “Wow look at all these ridiculous people up in arms over this silly symbol. That symbol didn’t used to mean that, pop culture gave it it’s new meaning!”? No, I don’t think you would.

Humans being from both angels and demons in the game does not make them full demons just as they are not full angels. It’s a bad explanation.

If you are going to tell fairly tales, at least use some common sense first.

It’s IN THE NAME. Church of Satan, not church of atheists who believe something else. They use you to spread the lie.

It’s a fine explanation if they can affiliate with either.

Let us apply reason and logic in the same manner, shall we. In one case we have a made up history and wrongful accusations against a symbol while another we have an actual symbol used in an actual war with an actual ideology that lead to actual millions of deaths.

So are you saying those are similar in any way? Well then you are crazy. And I believe this discussion is done according to internet rules, since someone brought up the Germans from the 30’s. Thats the rules right?

See that is where you are confused and could use some education on.

You try and reflect, but fail.

You are told what the church of Satan worships, in its own name.

You are unable to accept that you have taken the lie and spread the lie further.

You are being used by the church of satan to spread their lie. You cant reflect on that, so double down.

You chose.

And now you continue to use attacks to try and deflect from what you have unwittingly done, instead of turning inward to examine your actions.

Who are you and why are you playing Diablo?? This thread is glorious.
