Any T8 builds that don't use LS at all?

So I keep seeing YouTube videos doing high level Pits and T8 and they aren’t per se the OP LS Sorc build, but behind the scenes, these variants are still using Conjuration Mastery and LS (and the Splintering aspect)

So are there any YouTube builds that do T8 that don’t rely on LS and Conjuration Mastery? Basically take out LS from the equation.

If none, then it’s all good

Sorc has the new Druid Shepherds treatment, Conjuration mastery is too strong not to take and gimped the class in general. Not sure how they made the same mistake.

IH T8 with Blizzard/Ice-Spike Sorc? Maybe yes (with perfect gear). Maybe no…

Blizzard/Ice-Spike build here, with RoSS (MW 11), Blue rose (MW 10), Tibaults and overall good gear/rolls on items with 1-2 GA.
Damage wise, it is okay. I m doing pit level 70 (killing enemies/elites takes some time, but it works) and also managed to do IH T6.
Problem is (still) survivability…I tried IH T7. Currently I have 26k life and get one-shotted sometimes even with Ice armor up…

Yes, i know. I also have this ring. There is a lot of discussion which rings are BiS for a (Blizzard) Sorc. Seems to be Blue Rose (buffed in S5) and RoSS at the moment. This combination is also recommended in most guides (e.g. Blizzard King of the North, by Lurkin on Mobalytics, or the Blizzard build by NickTew)

LS is too good to leave out of any build, honestly. It’s just an amazing skill even if you’re only using it in a support role. Let’s count the ways:

  • Procs protection
  • Contributes to Ice Blades enchant trigger
  • Procs Aspect of Concentration
  • Applies Vulnerable
  • Applies crowd control with very high efficiency
  • For non-Shock builds, triggers stacks of Tal’Rasha and Elementalist
  • Can additionally apply Burning with the Firebolt enchant
  • Can additionally apply all sorts of damage debuffs to mobs if you spec into Electrocute or use the Conjurer glyph
  • Is the best skill available for stacking Conjuration Mastery since the number of Spears is uncapped and large amounts of them can be generated for free with Winterglass, Unstable Currents, and/or its own enchantment
  • If using it for damage it has uncapped scaling with Critical Damage thanks to Splintering Energy Aspect
  • On top of all this it’s a fire and forget heat seeking missile that can and does hit everything on the screen as well as things a fair ways off the screen in very short order

To be honest, it was already an absurdly good spell even before Aspect of Splintering Energy got reworked. They are so going to nerf the hell out of it next season, but until they do I can’t think of a single build I wouldn’t use it in.

axial conduit’s DR and mana regen multiplier is more superior than tibault’s temporary DR and 50 mana.

Hmm are you sure? TW also has 15% Damage reduction and has an up to 20% damage multiplier and a solid mana refresh if unstoppable (triggered by Flame shield and Teleport). I do not see a slot for AC in a Blizzard/Ice spike build, for example.

Axial Conduit has 15% DR all the time without the need of activating others skill for 2-3 seconds unstoppable state. so i would prefer it compared to Tibault’s Will with 5 seconds 15% DR and 20%x damage.

That´s true actually! And I never tried AC on my build. Maybe I should.

I agree that AC damage reduction is better than TW, but you would give up the damage boost and the (instant) mana regen.

why would i bother the ad-hoc 50 mana while i have 100% up time of mana regen that never dry?

i have tested it, and i got even better result with Axial Conduit’s 30%-ish (masterwork to 50%-ish) resource generation because this 30%-ish is directly increasing my base mana regeneration figure, which is the game changer because it helps me achieve the mana breaking point.

and when my mana doesn’t dry, i could spam more skill, in this case, stacking the double explosion blizzard-ice-spiked already outperformed Tibault’s few seconds of 20%x.

you can try on the dummy yourself, do the maths from the base value to believe it or just take the Tibault’s 20/50 gimmick as it is with peace of mind. :smile:

You can use any build but always have LP on it.
I am using chain lighting + Lp.
