As the title says…does anyone know if they plan to fix these three skills? All three can currently cause you to skip the traversal mechanic in the game (the glowing footprints on the ground), which trigger a short animation where you leap across large gaps, climb up large cliffs, or duck under objects/through narrow cave passages. But to be honest–in my opinion, Shred is much worse than the other two. Shred can both cause you to transcend the traversal points and, at least in my experience with Werewolf Druid…if there are monsters nearby, it can send you teleporting very large distances away, and even through walls, from what I’ve experienced.
I don’t know about anyone else, but in MMOs at least, being able to literally ignore walls is usually quite game breaking. Especially when the monsters can ignore them, too, coming through the walls as if they aren’t even there
Is this a major issue? A game breaking one even? No, and no. Would just be nice to see them notice when these things happen. Although, from other posts I’ve seen…perhaps the devs are not playing their own game–otherwise they might notice these glaring issues and try to fix them, rather than relying on players to post bug reports in their forums, relying solely on word-of-mouth. Hopefully someone in charge, be it devs or forum moderators–see this post, and act upon it. Not going to hold my breath though

I understand the attraction to being a realist to be honest…but this also seems a bit like pessimism as well. Granted, I am aware of Blizz’s history with bug fixes and nerfs, so yeah. I just haven’t lost that glimmer of innocence/hope that keeps me afloat. Not yet, anyway
But I get the feeling that the devs are about to literally beat it to a pulp…as sad as that is. I’m aware that this isn’t a major concern to them, or many other players…but would still be nice to see it fixed.
Along with the apparent mount bug, and despite people thinking it is my fault/a user-related error–my Necro’s ability to use up potions while at max HP until I run out…I did find an aspect in my codex that is Necro-specific that allows me to do this…but it is not equipped on any of my gear. Also…the forum posters that did respond seemed to think there are class-related passives all of a sudden on some class’s skill trees that can trigger this. Which I have never heard of–and also checked my Necro’s passives at the same time, just to be sure…and found zilch.
It most definitely is NOT a PEBKAC issue…an acronym I discovered is used by many IT people. I digress…imo, the IT people that just dismiss any sort of wrongdoing by the program/device are just as bad as the devs that do the same thing. Saying it’s a user issue, or…problem exists between keyboard and chair–is just an easy out for the IT ppl, rather than putting forth the effort to actually help. Granted, they may not know how, but putting forth any kind of effort would be more desirable than shifting the blame onto the user without any proof. Rant completed
Nope, maybe they will get to it next season.

Thanks Bob! For having some hope that they might get to it, even if it is next Season. Better than auto-assuming that it will never happen.
It’s a feature at this point. Leap used to be worse. During D4 launch you can Leap to targets off screen. Not just target monsters but destructible like barrels were auto target. This will soft lock the player since the player can skip locked doors.

I mean that’s kind of the point, you’re asking to remove one of the main perks of these skills. Actual bugs should be fixed of course, but being able to teleport through walls is literally one of the intended features.
This significantly improves the flow in those tight dungeons, where I can (for example) Shadowstep through walls and just keep rolling on through, rather than faffing about with doors.
I’m honestly not sure if this is an intended feature/perk, as you say…or an unintended beneficial consequence. Anyway…that is my opinion, and you have yours, of course. More power to you for being able to literally fade through walls/doors. But should these skills also be allowed to bypass the intended mechanic of traversal points, too? Asking for your honest opinion
Absolutely, yes, if you can use your mobility skills to get around quickly (and bypass obstacles and delays) then why not, as long as it doesn’t cause any showstopper bugs?
In Diablo 2, sorc teleport had no cooldown, with a fast cast speed, you could teleport through the entire dungeon and skip to the exit in a few seconds. Barbarian could even use Leap Attack to jump from one zone to another, instead of walking around to the actual path.
It’s much more tame in D4.
I wasn’t aware this was an old math joke tbh. Grew up hearing it my whole life, but was under the impression it was just an anecdote for differing perspectives regarding the same thing.
Would be nice if it was…but I see that a lot of players have grown comfortable with being able to go through walls/doors. I guess Blizz needs to pick their battles wisely, and in this case, they are losing the battle, yet winning the war. I digress, though. If it won’t’ be fixed, and isn’t on their radar…guess I’ll need to learn to live with it. And I was not aware it was much worse in D2…I played it, but guess I didn’t have a Sorc with teleport, or a Barb with Leap. This is indeed tame in comparison
Teleport is broken, it can go through wall but blocked by door
. It needs to be fixed.
Teleport enchantment travel distance with controller was shorter than mouse. Not sure this already patched, hope someone can help to test and confirm.
