Any other users that have Avast, my connection issues vanished when I turned it off

I hate that I HAVE to do this even with everything on my pc set to just allow the game and everything about it under the sun through but so far, in a few hours of testing, no disconnects or stupid latency spikes since shutting it off. Would be nice to hear from anyone else that has Avast if they are getting the issues as well.

Avast is basically malware anyway, you’d be doing yourself uninstalling it and just using Windows Defender. If you insist on a 3rd party AV solution, at least get something good like ESET or Malwarebytes.

That’s quite the statement with no proof, I’ve used it for ages and had no issues so, keep the conspiracies to yourself.

I had to turn off everything in background (like GOG, Epic Games, Steam, anti-virus) just to be able to play without being slinged around. So yea, pretty sucky

Okay, obviously it’s literally not malware but I’m being dramatic for the sake of saying that it’s bad.

It’s just a pointless product in 2023, Windows defender is likely more than adequate for your needs and most people just install these bloatware AV packages, McAfee, AVG, Avast etc. out of habit, from back when Windows didn’t really have a built in AV solution. These products are propped up by boomers that don’t know any better, nobody uses them at an enterprise level because they’re a joke.

Avast is causing you issues in game, while not really providing anything that Win Defender doesn’t. What’s the point in using it if it just hampers your system’s performance and stops programs you want to use from running correctly?

Its not THAT bad. But I agree with you that Windows Defender basically made all other Antivirus-Software obsolete.
Plus, as I remember AVAST often had problems with onlinegaming. I remember having to turn it off more than once for gaming.

Oh yeah, it’s not quite malware level (unlike McAffee) but Avast did have the whole background data collection fiasco back in 2020, which makes me dislike them even more than a lot of the other bloatware “BestBuy Special” AV packages.

Avast…LOL I loved the 90’s…remember people are the biggest virus.
