Hi, I know this topic is a bit out of D4, but we are gamers, we are a family… ok we are just gamers… anyway… I wonder if you have a game to recommend, that is not POE2 or something like that… but a good game. I’m just bored with every games that are released currently… maybe I’m too old then… maybe I’m mature… wtf… nah. I want to believe I’m still a gamer.
I would ask first what type of game you like. What are the latest you played and enjoyed?
Have you played POE1? What about Titanquest remastered? I grabbed that awhile back and had loads of fun. Cant wait for titanquest2.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker
D4 and Skyrim. I’ve try those games since but I don’t have a blast with them:
- Kingdom Come Deliverance: nice but slow, and combats are wtf.
- Cyberpunk 2077: already finished 4 times, great game though…
- Death Stranding: so… we got to deliver things… then… deliver more things…
- Mortal Kombat 11: got it for 5 bucks… quite dull to play though.
- Hell Let Loose: interesting, very realistic, but servers are not great and seems there’s lot of cheaters.
- D2R: nice but it’s a bit obsolete though, combats and maps are too much like 2D,
- Red Dead Redemption 2: it’s ok, but I don’t know, boring somehow.
Vrising is pretty fun. Arpg where you are a vampire trying to survive and build a castle.
Seems like you’re a fan of Diablo-like, and open world ARPGs so to speak. Any other genres in particular you like? Metroidvania, tower defense, rogue-likes, puzzle, turn-based, JRPG, FPS, etc.?
Seems a good idea, I will try that, maybe I will got a blast like Grim Dawn. Thanks mate.
Thanks everybody.
I used to be a hardcore gamer but I am also having a hard time getting really interested in any game now. That’s probably the reason I am still playing D4. You can jump into it for 15min or a few hours, no need to keep track of anything you did before. It is not a profound gaming experience but maybe this is now just what suits me.
If you like RPGs, I would have recommend Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.But, if you didn’t like the first one, not sure you will enjoy the sequel. If you want action, Indiana Jones game could be an option. If you want puzzles, I would suggest the Talos Principle 2. Apart for D4, that’s the only one I managed to finish.
Try a different genre.
I really began to enjoy some of the many good card battler games out there while I was home during the pandemic and looking for something new.
Games like Slay the Spire or Monster Train are really fun and challenging. There are a ton more you can mess around with on Steam - you can really go down a rabbit hole. I highly recommend you check it out. You can try games on Steam for under 2 hours and still get your money back if you dont like them.
Avowed is great. Playing that now
Yep, Avowed, a bit expensive for now, 70 bucks… will wait for a sale. Seems combats and exploration are great, but NPCs are vegetables and there’s way too much bears and lizards. Also still fluo-colored like a rainbow, I don’t like this style that much, same as in The Outer Worlds…
There’s a game, Frostpunk, seems a bit original, and it’s not that much expensive currently (30 bucks). Will try this and V Rising.
Frostpunk is a choices matter, survival RTS game. I loved it myself, the 2nd one is also available on the Game Pass, which is also great in my opinion. The game is more so about building your town correctly to survive, making sure they have enough food and warmth, while also sending out people to explore the harsh wasteland that’s frozen over.
The choices matter part comes into play when you start to get requests from people, and have to enact laws. For example you can go the religious route or the technology route, each having their pros and cons. You can be a tyrant, or some one who listens to the people. The 2nd game starts to get into factions for your people that are split up. All of them advocating for their own causes, and you have to balance them out, or possibly exile a group if you feel the need.
You will lose, probably many times, but it’s great.
How about Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr, got a new DLC in November.
Here’s my current playlist. Do keep in mind I tend to like older games.
- Diablo 4. You are here.
- Shin Megami Tensei V, Vengeance
- Wild Arms 3 (PS2)
- Stardew Valley (PC)
- Balatro (PC)
- Grandia Xtreme (PS2)
- Breath of Fire IV (PS1)
- Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remaster
- Beneath Oresa (Slay the Spire like game)
- Shogun Showdown
If you like survivor FPSs then stalker 2 is amazing despite the bugs.
Space Marine 2. I’m having an awesome time and it’s going to keep me busy for a good long while.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a fantastic game. But: it is slow, more like older RPG‘s in my opinion. The characters are very well developed and the medieval atmosphere is impressive.
Assassins Creed Odyssey - for me the best game in this series with Black Flag. is very extensive, still has very nice graphics and the mythical Greece has been captured superbly. Apart from that, the music is also very nice. The game including DLC’s will easily keep you busy for 100 hours.
If you’re interested in exciting stories set in space, Mass Effect Remaster 1-3 would be a good choice.
And last but not least - for me the highlights on my PS5 - The Last of Us 1 and 2. Exciting story, great characters. I play both parts at least once a year. While the rest of the world is waiting for GTA 6, I’m eagerly awaiting part 3 of TLoU.
Dragon Kin has bonkers graphics. Its a new Diablo like. They released a free demo on steam a couple days ago. It goes into early access next month for 20 bucks. Try the demo and see how it runs.
I just started enshrouded about a week ago and having a great time with it so far, if you like survival/arpg
