I want to be optimistic about it, I really want to, BUT

Whether or not they talk to players (seems to me at least) is less relevant than devs themselves being actually aware of the nature and reasons of the mistakes they’ve made so far

The event itself sounds like a “closed circle” kind of thing but I think I had once their Discord PM-ed to me (some time ago, once, will have to check that)

But don’t have Discord account myself tbh

They were so embarrassed that they didn’t know answers about seasonal stuff they worked on, so they dont wanna show their faces anymore ?

Anything is better than complete silence, but I’m waiting for something concrete before I get excited.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. Is it really that hard to spare, what, two or three hours every three months to actually talk to your own audience? And that’s not even mentioning the little detail that the person in charge of the whole franchise just… left. But hey, everything’s fine, right? Business as usual. Fantastic job, guys lol

After listening to them ooh and aah and squeeeee about how exciting Escalating Dungeons were going to be … then to boot up the game and figure out that, yeah, it’s literally just three dungeons in a row with no real gameplay changes … I’ll pass on the livestreams.

It’s absolutely time for these livestreams to be put to pasture. I’ll take 15 minutes of Adam green screened behind the resolute desk, dropping detail on what did and didn’t work last season and what’s going to change for next season, ending with “more details are in the patch notes”.

Frankly, they’ve lost the right to talk at us for 90 minutes. they haven’t earned it.
Take your most effective communicator, point a camera at him, let him talk for 15 minutes, and get us back to our lives.

Honestly I don’t want them to do campfires any more. They’re unbearable to watch and it just becomes a waste of time. I’m fine just reading patch notes. I’d rather they put their efforts toward improving the game.

I’ve no issues with this, just keep us in the loop of what’s going on. Now they did mention that they won’t be doing it for the PTR, but will be continuing to do live streams later. Personally doesn’t bother me as long as we get the information in some format.

Does this mean they will no longer answer any questions from Iggi?

All this attempt to hype up the livestream revamp tells me they think the livestreams are more important/effective than they are. Admittedly, i watch them… but i wouldn’t miss them if they stopped happening… and i don’t expect the revamp to yield anything impressive.

I’d be more impressed if they stopped doing livestreams and got more involved/present in the forums.

They haven’t answered my questions for a while. Not directly anyway. They’ve answered ones I’ve asked but just happened to be by other people, and I’m all for that. As long as the question gets answered.

they should just hire a talented ventriloquist

use a random class talking to bear puppet:
Hi I am [Insert name here], thanks for coming to my TED talk.

They’re asking for feedback for changes they’ve recently done. That’s like the communication going other way round

This isn’t anything new though. They’ve always asked for feedback for any changes they’ve made regardless of what those changes were.

That to me just says ‘keep doing what you’ve been doing’ which to the community means feedback, complaints, and praise.

That would be like leading the sheep to the slaughter. The way people act on this forum they would never come back.

Rod left/fired…And now this little “coincidence.” Oh yes, I’m sure it’s a wonderful omen for the loyal hordes of D4 fans. (All three of them. But hey, even D3 managed to collect a handful, so I guess anything’s possible.)

I wouldn’t necessarily want this, but I would prefer more updates on a consistent monthly basis. Instead of just radio silence for the majority of the season after it launches. They don’t have to come to the forums, except to post a new sticky or open topic in my opinion.

I mean I wish this was a thing possible, but yes all kinds of pitchforks will unravel

as long as its better than what the OW team did with their last video…cause that was…yikes
