I’ve been playing since release with a friend. We have been material farming for Duriel constantly, as well as joining in on other runs.
Every single run we have done has been together.
He played a Rogue, with a switch to Necromancer to target farm the Grandfather, I play Barb.
After 400+ runs, we have the following Uber drops to share.
Drops:
Rogue run 15 - Ring of the starless skies
Barb run 32 - Doombringer
Rogue run 48 - Doombringer
Rogue run 79 - Ring of the starless skies
Rogue run 96 - Andarial’s Helm
Rogue run 128 - Harlequin Crest Shako
Rogue run 169 - Doombringer
Rogue run 226 - Andarial’s Helm
Barb run 276 - Grandfather
Rogue (switch to necro) run 287 - Grandfather
Rogue run 316 - Melted heart of Selig
Rogue run 379 - Harlequin Crest Shako
Currently at run 418
We also have 2 other friends that have been playing since season 0 but not consistently by any means who have done somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 (all of their lifetime) runs with us. They have found 4 and 5 Ubers each respectively.
Currently at run 418.
I fully understand RNG, but the statistical chance of this happening is getting to be pretty wild from the stories I have heard from some other players as well. Going 32 runs for 1 Uber, followed by 244 to get 1 more Uber, and currently on another dry streak of 142 really has destroyed my motivation to grind materials.
Crazy to think I have more play time than all 3 of them combined and spent time grinding Helltides and nightmares target farming Ubers since the day it was possible for them to drop.
This system needs to be improved upon. There are far too many oddities with loot drops in the game I’m not going to get into at this point that further shows something isn’t right, and this doesn’t just simply boil down to RNG.
Uber drops at Duriel are tied to double unique drop procs. The issue being I rarely see double unique procs, and without that it’s next to impossible for Ubers to drop at Duriel.
EDIT: Now at 810 runs, still at 2 Ubers. I appreciate friends/clan members now turning this into an experiment because this is nuts.
