She is not worth the aggravation. I just refuse to run her anymore. The Maggot is good enough.
Man the kind of replies this gets is basically every activision community in a nutshell.
Well done
The Andarial fight is just awful in every way.
Andy does not have the most awful mechanics Lilith does
i guess the designer who designed Andariel was a fan of arcades in the 90s, the kind of boss that had to be keep insert with tokens all the time to defeat it.
Don’t play a video game has boss if you don’t like boss mechanic. Just play any loot box game, which you submit the mats to the vendor and it will drop a box with RNG gears.
Andariel Fight for lazy people:
- enter cave with stronk SB
- stand left from Andarielle The Mermaid
- 1-shot her HP-bar down
- BONK left pillar, BONK south pillar, BONK eastern pillar (if you have stronk dämitsch red. dont bother evading red circles, lazor beams and other unheathy things)
- after last pillar is broken, JUMP at Andarielle and 1-shot her
- if thou artst a lucky peasant then she will be deader than dead, wont get into another phase and you can pick up precious loot.
Advanced mechanics for defating The Beast in the very tasty ice :
- enter cavement with stronk SB, press attack button. loot.
Professional boss tactix if you dont have stronk SB yet:
- scream like little girl
- surrender to your fate
A lazy dev team with zero creativity or vision… One-shot mechanics are lazy game design. Simple as that.
Mythics arent worth anything really this season. The real mythics are Spiritborn bugs.
This may be true but one-shot mechanics don’t belong in modern video games period. It’s 100% lazy design & just goes to show how lazy the dev team can be at times…
I can’t. This is the laziest game design imaginable, and it seems to be exclusive to Blizzard. They do this in WoW a lot too.
If I’m doing damage, the boss should be losing health. Full stop. Arbitrarily making the boss invulnerable is dumb.
Blizzard design theory:
- Cultivate the narrative that DPS > all, and balance to that metric.
- RNG gate gear to infinitesimal drop rates.
- TWIST! Boss fight design ignores all gear and stats except + to mobility and evade, with periodic chance to trigger unresistable death touch.
If you can get through the first intermission phase then slam her as soon as she starts to phase back in and you should kill her before she starts her next one. I assume you one shot her at the beginning and it leaves that little nick of life left. If you slam her right after the intermission, she should die.
Yes, they should give all the bosses resilience like the world boss. Then everyone has to do the mechanics. Then they can leave out the immune phase.
I wish they would add the resilience mechanic from world bosses to tormented ones and then increase the summon mats in exchange for less items with higher quality.
Currently tormented bosses are pinatas filled with garbage that you just wack 1-5 times (non SB players) and then you get showered with 99% crap.
Could not agree more about the Andariel mechanics - on my Golem necromancer I save a golem attack for right after the pillars go down so I can burst during that one second in between, but even then it works 8/10 times. I can do T4 pretty easily but can’t avoid the one shot mechanics if I get to multiple phases on T3.
Also agree that the Beast is super annoying because of the degree of difficulty in actually seeing the stupid wind gust lines. Compare that mechanic to Varshan’s floor death mechanics which are easily seen before they hit.
I don’t know if I made the claim that Andy does have the most awful mechanics. I said she had some of the most frustrating mechanics. Still, my biggest issue with her mechanics is that they are annoying when you have to deal with them due to poor coding, not that they are really there in the first place.
I agree it shouldn’t be a thing. I just wanted to make sure that the real issues of the post were addressed and people wouldn’t get so hung up on arguments I didn’t make. That didn’t go well.
But I do agree that it’s a needlessly pointless design.
