Andariel is way overtunned

Andariel is way over tuned. She has one too many invulnerability phases, just one after another, literally two back to back for no reason. There ware way too many things that one shot the player no matter how much armor, res, health, DR, or barrier they have. The fight does not respect the player’s defenses. It takes 20 attempts just to kill, so forget about ever spending her matts, no one will ever spend them nor farm her at this point. Her final invulnerability phase is rugged because the fire wall is spinning one direction, and the shadow wall is spinning the other, and there’s nowhere to run because regardless of what direction to go, one will hit the player and instance KO anyone making the fight nearly impossible and the fight insults the player and wastes their time be rewarding no ancestral items nor any credit for the season journey.

This fight is literal trash.

I mean, shes doable, but yea, id agree that id also consider her a bit overtuned. Shes doing a little bit too much on every front for sure compared to her counterparts.

personally i think id be enough if her ground effects in the later phases (you know, all that random stuff on the floor) would be dialed down.

I don’t think she has one shot mechanics. All you need is killing her totems as fast as possible. Dog on the other hand can one shot me.

Just did 33 Andariel’s on T4 solo back to back without dying. Stopped when it finally dropped a Mythic that I already had.
I don’t like the invulnerability/never actually fighting the Boss either but I struggle mightily with Lilith because of my vision so by comparison, Andariel really can’t be that bad.
Agree that the loot is pretty consistently garbage though.

I can hear the Harbinger crying somewhere in a corner being called a mere dog.

She does. I’m very tanky and get one shot if I attempt to leap OVER the flames in T4 (which I still don’t friggin agree with, sorc can teleport THROUGH them but barb can’t leap OVER them?). The Beam also one shots me “most of the time”. Sometimes I can tank it. I think it depends on if I just shouted near her because that gives me 16% reduced damage from enemies.

Mind you, I generally manage to avoid these mechanics, but stuff happens.

I also agree that she has too many invulnerability phases, especially since they are 100% forced at specific intervals of her life whether she’s actually started the animation for them or not.

Also also, yes the times when she only appears for a fraction of a second and then IMMEDIATELY triggers right into another invulnerability/disappearance phase is ridiculous and annoying.

This is the most annoying thing about this fight.

Andy and ice beast…jumps off so frequently

Mostly I find it boring to trail behind things at a medium pace to avoid touching anything.

This is not true.

On T4 my Barb has to dodge only the rotating fire and beam blast. Her other abilities don’t hurt that much.

I’m not saying all builds/classes can be tanky, but more life, barrier and DR definitely help.

The trick is to slow down. Stay behind the firebeam. When red beam comes watch for the one end to start glowing. If it does back up till it fires and then it’s safe to cross. Should have plenty of room since you were right behind the firebeam an have a lot of time before the other end comes around. Go circle to circle killing totems the same direction (clockwise) as the firebeam, after it appears.

If you know she is going to phase then no point in rushing around trying to cheese her down. Count on at least three phases and slowly repeat the process. It’s boring but it’s not hard. The two lethal effects are easy to time and the outer cloud is completely avoidable if you slow down and move accurately. The rest is just the occasional health pot as it’s minor damage.

To be clear, I hate the fight, wish it didn’t exist. It’s long and boring. But if you move easy with purpose it’s not hard at all.

It’s even worse if you play a minion necro. It’s all pretty much luck if you manage to kill all of the spires each phase before your minions die to all the insta-kill crap on the screen; all without getting 1-shot yourself.

The bosses themselves are still pansies, but hide behind invulnerability phases and 1-shot kill mechanics to compensate for poor design. This is why devs need to test their games.

yeah, i tried her and it’s miserable. there is also the fact that you can’t see exactly what is happening which makes even worse.

She has more or less one one shoot mech. The Fire beam.

Even the thick red beam can be survived in T4 with some DR and ~20k life. For the rest, you have to run around the little red lines on the ground and the little bubbles.

Patience is needed, i would say. Take maybe an extra round to avoid her beams.
Most chars, i would suggest, die here because of inpatience.

She is a skip on HC, I can tell you that, either skip or drop down to T1 or T2 to kill her. But on SC, you just have to learn the fight, a lot like Lilith. Not hard once you figure it out, just will take you a lot of deaths to figure it out.

And to think, that part and many other minion issues could be solved by letting the player have control over their minions and target something.

As sorcer player, everything in T4 Andariel pretty much can one shot me. I was able to finished T4 Season Journey by beating Belial with Lilith Power; 2 items that I skipped is using Belial Power against Lilith and Boss Ability agaisn’t themself; Duriel and Andariel Main Power just sucks.

I hate 1 shot mechanics or basically one shot. I also hate invulnerable phases, Lilith has both. it wouldn’t be terrible if you could tell what was going on, on screen. If you pay attention it isn’t terrible, but it slows down your farming for sure. They need to buff drops for bosses that have these mechanics to make them more worth doing. Though Duriel is similar with his burrowing at least you can semi easily tell where he is and quickly kill the spawns.
