Ancestral drop rates are terrible

Wait. The purveyor actually gave you something useful? Since they patched it, I haven’t gotten anything that I can equip or enchant.

tbh i think the drop rate for ancestral items is good, but they gotta do something with ancestral dropping with min rolls. so many times this season i have had 2-3 items with the same aspect drop and so frustrating to always see the ancestral drop with lower roll than the normal legendary item.

And yet I get them all the time….but I keep hearing this complaint

I mean sure they don’t drop like rain but their not super rare either

Almost close to complete salvaging 100 ancestral legendary gear to complete all the season journey objectives :joy:

if you consider GA fire resists then sure I get them all the time too, but if the good stats and good aspects are going to be so rare then the items need to drop more for people to get what they need. I agree S5 was over the top and it needed to be scaled back a little but it feels too much.

I shared a few ideas here i think could help without making it Monty Hall again **PLAYER FEEDBACK** Season 6 Mid-Season - My take so far and my 2 cents on possible changes

I’ll go through 50 bags of this before I get an ancestral to even look at. I’ll go through another 200 bags before that ancestral might be worth saving.

Ancestral droprate and new paragon are deliberately designed to keep you playing longer and never feeling ‘complete’.

Playtime metrics are the only thing that matters now. Enjoy the grind, it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Do you think it would be good if they had a system to reroll affixes?

Like the cube in d3 say

that or a system where if you salvaged items with GA you got some kind of shard that when you have enough you can use to apply a GA to another item … iono something would be cool

Oh it’ll go somewhere. People will only grind so long before they feel like it isn’t worth it because they aren’t getting anything and it just resets anyways. Their metrics will be worse.

been playing undercity 5 hours yesterday with hopes to get offensive aspects, didnt got a single upgrade during that time, and not a single aspect either to improve the codex.

Also i spend 100.000s opals at the vendor to gamble for an ancestral pants, never get one. :frowning:

I’m pretty sure obol gambling got nerfed since the start of the season.
It’s now back to how it was before, almost all yellows and blues.

Since you need only one item unless bricksmith ruins it. You probably don’t even look what you get as long as you get a good item for every slot.

I think those who say drop rates are fine are either people with too much free time or people who are lucky to get what they need in short time. On the other hand some of us can’t find an upgrade for 50+ hours.

indeed, or they got a 3/4 GA that they sold for billions and then bought the other items they needed so drop rate is not a consideration for them lol

If you push pit, if you play the season just a little longer (it last 3 months) you will drown in usable, sellable 1-2 GA items.

Paragon 291 atm, sitting 150B in gold with pages of items I cannot sell cus gold cap and my friends are as well. Season last 3 months, stop wanting everything in 3 weeks like Diablo 3. Just play, push pit.

Some have no problem with drop rates, and others barely get anything out of it, pure luck or because … ?

I dont really think thats a thing. I have terrible luck. I wont say I purchased lots from the store, but I have purchased an outfit every season except S3. I have also had the paid battle pass every season. I also purchased the ultimate edition of the base game and expansion.

Thanks for the input, players try to make some sense out of the design choices made by the gods of this game, who give no clue about these.

ARPGs have grind in their core. It is what it is, nothing to do with metrics. Back when Diablo launched no one cared about metrics. That’s a lousy excuse of saying you don’t like the grind. Which is fine btw, but you could just say you don’t like the grind, lol.

Anyway, the drop rates are fine. The items need some shakeup to their affix pool to make them exciting. So when that Ancestral finally drops it’s more likely to be exciting than just to go straight to the bin.
