edit: I forgot about the -armor penalty at t3 difficulty. The % bonus is applying before the penalty, then the penalty reduces by the flat amount at the end. It makes sense now, and I did the math and it checks out. I’ll leave this up in case anyone else is curious about it. This makes +% armor a REALLY good stat for easily capping armor in T4.
I have 697 armor in T3 with no amulet. I have two amulets to equip:
Amulet A:
+9.9% strength
Amulet B:
+14.2% strength
+72.6% armor (GA)
There are other stats but they aren’t relevant to armor. They have the same irrelevant codex power at the same level.
Amulet A: Armor goes up to 745 (small increase due to strength)
Amulet B: Armor goes up to 1866, about 2.68x the original value.
Amulet B obviously has a larger strength bonus, but that should only account for a small difference (14.2% vs 9.9% str). I cannot fathom how a “+72.6% total armor” leads to a >2.5x multiplier on my armor, or said another way, I am actually getting about +168% armor, more than double the stated bonus. I wanted to test with a non-GA armor bonus amulet to see if that’s the issue, but I don’t have one laying around currently and couldn’t get it to roll on the other amulet.
