Am I the only one on Console that has this problem?

I hold down my primary attack and constantly find that I’m not attacking.

Tapping works fine just holding seems to not always kick in.

Even when unstoppable I find this happens to me. Outside of Enemy cc, when I jump off my horse, if I’m next to anything that has “click” A forget about it.

I hit 1000 in D3 and never ever felt like this happened to me on console.

I even switched controllers to a brand new one and still find it happening.

Even if it happened a handful of times to you please speak up. Thanks👍

That will happen to me as well yes (PS4) IF I use a channeling power (Incineration) and then try to switch to basic attack. Instead of attacking the enemy my sorcerer starts running towards it… :man_facepalming:
If I use basic attack only, holding down the button works fine.

I am an Arch Lash build so I hold my basic Arch Lash ability down the majority of my fight and still find it happening to me.

I’m on Xbox series x so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

When it works it works well. I can hold it and still pop other skills the majority of the time but a small percentage of that time I find I’m just standing there or moving in a small circle in a massive group of enemies and takes me a second or two before I realize I’m not attacking at all.

This happens to me as well (Necromancer). I typically hold “A” for my basic skill and simultaneously tap “X” for my core skill. Most of the time I can use the two buttons in conjunction with each other. Sometimes I’ll notice that my basic skill, “A”, is no longer working. I just move around and it’ll start working again. But, it does get frustrating when fighting a large group that seems like it takes forever to clear out, only to find towards the end that only one of the two skills was working.

I find it happens often near walls or random unbreakable objects that are scattered around. It’s more of a nuisance having to hit the button again rather than holding it. Could have something to do with interaction and your skill also being bound. Has anyone tried moving their basic attack to another button or removing the binding to see if that works?

Honestly, it’s not enough of an issue for me personally to want to troubleshoot. I simply release the button, reposition my character, and go at it some more. My only concern would be if it were a constant issue or something to do with my controller itself. But, I’m sure there are some who would like to get down to the root problem so they can mitigate the issue during gameplay.

Yep. it happens to me, after i use another skill, so holding arc down, press another button arc stops. other than that holding down works fine.

PS5, on my Druid this is happening.
I thought maybe my controller was faulty (brand new).

Definitely a known Druid issue. There was a post about a week ago in their forums specifically. I also play Druid.

Good to see I’m not the only one. Rough to see it doesn’t bother as many people as it does me so it’s probably no where near a priority.

I’m built around attack speed boosts or else I would just button mash but holding the button is far mor efficient.

Someone recommended trying to key bind to a different button. I will definitely try that and report back if I find any changes.

Can confirm this happens to me on PS5 as well. Have tried both of my controllers.

Mostly play Rogue.

This has been happening to me since I started playing right at launch. I notice it with my Necro, not with my Barbarian. It consistently happens to me. I figured it was a me problem. – I’m on XBOX series X.

I think it has to be something in the coding causing a delay. Instead of forcing the input the game decides to cancel it.

With the servers really shaky today I noticed it more than ever.

:crossed_fingers:Fingers crossed that it’s addressed over the next two days of maintenance being pushed out but if not I will try to bring more attention to the issue.
